“Pick the season”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

This was a good place to learn the names of many cacti and other desert plants. Early March is not the ideal time to view many of these plants as this is not the prime time to see them bloom. The butterfly room was enjoyable and the volunteer workers were very friendly and eager to answer any questions. The additional fee for the butterfly exhibit buys more butterflies from around the world.

“Small treasure in Tucson”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2012

This is a great place to take young children. They have a spectacular butterfly display and some very interesting desert attractions.

I suggest that you ask questions about the various flora and fauna, they are very knowledgeable and willing to help.

“Butterfly area OK--Rest could be better maintained.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2012

Could have been better maintained. Have seen better butterfly areas but this one seemed to satisfy the children.

“Always love the Botanical Gardens, but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2012

...I wish there were more docents available in the park to field questions and guide visitors. They could point things out that might otherwise be missed, both good and bad. Maybe more sign-age could help fill this need? Saw a family set their children free *inside* the miniature train display, and couldn't believe it... looked for staff, but there just wasn't anyone close enough to address it.

“The butterfly exhibit is a MUST--especially if you have kids.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2012

This is a very nice botanical garden, with well-marked plants. But the best thing is the Butterfly Exhibit, which is magical and wonderful. The delight of the kids in watching the butterflies sitting on things (particularly them) was even more fun than the beautiful butterfiles themselves. Very friendly, helpful and informative staff.
