Tohono Chul is conveniently located in the Catalina foothills section of Tucson, not far from the University of Arizona area. Within its fairly compact size, you can get a real sense of the variety of desert plant life that grows in the surrounding sonora Desert. there is some wildlife -- desert tortoises, birds, the occasional snake or lizard -- and some interesting sculptures, but the plants are the stars of the show. The park also has a very nice small restaurant and is a great place for a nice outdoor breakfast on a spring morning. All in all, well worth the visit. My son lives in Tucson and we go to Tohono Chul every time we visit him (at least once a year).
