“Great way to spend your afternoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 29, 2012

This was the first excision we did when we visited Tucson. It is great way to learn the native plants. The art work was absolutely fantastic and whimsical. They have dining on sight so it makes for an excellent outing to get your desert bearings.

Okay, if you have time to fill. A botannical garden, not great.

“Best Prickly Pear Lemonade!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2012

I love their Prickly Pear Lemonade. I love the outdoor seating areas, very relaxing. The service is excellent every time we have visited - most often for lunch. The breakfast that we had was wonderful -- everyones food was presented so deliciously. Highly recommend you go here. And a walk around the paths in this park is well worth your time too.

“Desert Ecology, Terrific food, and warm sun...does it get much better in February?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2012

Other reviewers are "spot on" with this venue. This gem is a "must see" for a first time visitor to Tucson. The nature walks (Desert and South loop), the Children's and Demonstration gardens and sculptures throughout make this a delightful way to learn about desert ecology. Their motto is "Where Nature, Art and Culture Connect" and it is certainly true. The Desert View trail (1/2 mile) is a great introduction to the Sonoran Desert in its more natural state. The Tohono Chul Tea Room at the entrance serves reasonably priced items in a lovely shaded courtyard atmosphere...especially important in the early or mid-summer! The Tea Courtyard is very popular so plan to eat an early or late lunch to avoid the crowds or perhaps even better enjoy breakfast or afternoon snack. It still surprises me that this venue is within the city and yet has such charm.

Lots of sculptures, plants, etc. Had some very walkable trails even for the aged.
