“True example of the Southwest...animals, insects, plants...all day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

I think this is the best example of a perfect way to experience the southwest...if you are just visiting you will take a wealth of information and understanding of Arizona...if you are moving to Arizona..you must see what animals and insects are good and not so good! Beautiful drive out to the museum..take lots of water and a hat...try to avoid summer unless you go early!

Any age would love this museum!!

“wonderful, wonderful, wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

I've been to the museum many times, I'm actually a member and love to take my out-of-town guests there. Beautiful drive out there, immaculately maintained grounds, interesting and educational. Love the raptor free flight - highly recommend seeing that if you visit during the winter months (it's not put on during the summer high heat months). Get there early - see the animals in the cooler temperatures, stay for lunch, visit the hummingbird enclosure, check out the gift shop - you won't be disappointed.

“The closest you should ever be to wild things...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

What an amazing place. I have been visiting the Desert Museum since I was a kid in grade school. Annual field trips were so popular that we knew everybody would show up that day. This facility has grown and developed over the years into one of the best natural habitat facilities for Sonoran Desert Wildlife. Just behind the glass the reptiles flick their tongues and the black light shines brightly on the scorpions. Step outside and see mountain lions, brown bears and well maybe not tigers but you won't even miss them with all the other exhibits to browse through. You don't want to miss this incredible, dare I say zoo, not even remotely it's like being outside watching the animals live, breathe, and play in the incredible Arizona sun. A must see if your in the area.

Wonderful place to visit in Tucson. Love the hummingbird exhibit! It's hot during the summer months but great the rest of the year.

“Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum”

A perfect example of desert wildlife and foilage. They offer interactive demonstrations with desert dwellers and tours. The property is absolutely beautiful and very educational. An out of state visitor will be pleasantly satisfied spending a day there. A perfect way to spend a day in the desert.
