“Beautiful Coe Hall and large grounds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

Our family enjoyed touring the house. Although restoration is in progress and most original furniture is lacking, the house is a beautiful work of art, with the half-timbered Tudor style and Indiana limestone. There is a lot of stained glass, beautiful ceilings, and intricate woodwork.

The grounds are also lovely, but we did not linger on them.
There were at least 3 wedding parties taking pictures on the grounds.

“Great place to spend a sunny day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

This 409 acre property is a magical place to spend the day. Grounds are exquisite, great for horticultural and photography enthusiasts, with an impressive example of the mansions of the Gold Coast Era (Coe Hall). Don't miss the recently restored Italian Gardens, with the most spectacular relic of a 1900s Tea House. Ample parking, refreshment area, and awesome green houses!

“Escape for a few hours to The Planting Fields”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Whether you are a photographer, gardener or a family, Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park offers a gorgeous refuge of flowers and succulents, trees and landscaping, plus rotating exhibits of interest. During my visit on Sunday, July 21st, I found myself fascinated by the sprinkler head watering the daylillies, the succulents in a window box, butterfilies on a flowering tree; plus a Railroad Exhibit at The Manor House. Portrayed was The Virginia Railroad, with a model railroad as well. I was by myself and with camera club members, and enjoyed every minute!

“Beautiful !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Tucked away on Northshore in Oyster Bay, Long Island, a state park with meticulously kept grounds, showing off every tree and plant indigenous to the Northeast! Historical mansions, carriage house add to the beauty n quaintness of arboretum! strolling the paths brought images of several movies filmed there! definitely worth a visit on a summer day!!!
