This is a conundrum of a hotel. At first, it's a nicely done outside, lobby, and has a nice restaurant upstairs and a Flemings off the lobby. It's also connected via a lengthy walkway to the Mall. It is next door to the Dunkin' Donuts center (but sadly - -there is NO Dunkin Donuts there!). What makes me hesitate is the inconsistency in the various service you should expect from a hotel like this. I was there for almost a week and there was no single day where the room was serviced at the same time as the day before and only had a turn down one and a half times. The half time was what appeared to be a haphazard attempt to just pull the covers down on the bed, but didn't leave ice like they did the other time, and worst of all didn't refresh the towels.
Now if you travel a lot you know the thermostats and fans can get you sick if you can't regulate it properly. This room had a very noisy fan and even when I turned off the thermostat all together, the fan still went full blast, only neither warm nor cold in particular. When asked at the front desk, they said it was like that permanently and you couldn't turn it off. They offered to send a maintenance guy up to turn off the fan for me, but it is an all or nothing proposition. Once that is down, you can't go back to having it work without the maintenance guy again.
One day I left the room from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm and the room was still not made up when I returned very tired and wanted to just take a nap. I had to leave after finding someone in the hallway to take care of it. I told her it was not her fault -- but the management that sorts this stuff out but she came right away and made it nice for me. Also -- please do not forget to tip these folks that do this for us. If the timing is off or the room sucks, it's STILL not their fault. It's always the management's sloppiness or inattention to details.
Finally, the valet gets 5 stars. They remembered me each day and had my car waiting, helped clean out the day's coffee cups, and gave me great directions and advice on places to eat. They were top notch and saved this from being a 3 star review.
Unfortunately, I can't recommend this for a repeat visit. Just too many quirks to overcome.
