“Fantastic service by banquet staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

I was here as a primary organizer of a conference. During the planning stage, I was really dispointed by the lack of detail, the disorganized manner (often misplaced things and forgot communications) of the Sales Manager, Jennifer. (This is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5)
However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was immediately greeted by Lorraine, Director of Banquets, who was magnificent! Every detail, every wish was cheerfully carried out by her and/or her staff (Anthony, Tiago, and others). Evan (room coordinator?) made sure all the rooms were assigned in a convenient manner. Nick, at the front desk, was pleasant, efficient and competent. Everyone: (housekeeping, food service) was more than helpful and always had a positive cheery attitude! I was pleasantly surprised, considering my initial experience. I would recommend this hotel for anyone else planning an event because of Lorraine Longano,Director of Banquets, and the banquet staff. (Just keep an eye on details and correspondance when planning with "Sales.")
Rooms are comfortable with big fluffy beds and lots of pillows. It's a convenient location and easy to get to.

Room Tip: King beds are very big and comfortable. Ask for a King room.

Thank you for your kind words about Lorraine, Evan, and our banquet staff. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your conference.

I will follow up with the sales team regarding your comments. Your concern with the communication is definitely the exception rather than the rule at the Hilton Providence. Please accept our apologies.

Please contact us directly if we can assist you with your future traveal plans. We would enjoy hosting your conference again in the future.

This hotel is very overpriced. The rooms are small and service isn't great. It is close to federal hill which is a defineate plus. If you are an Hilton Honor's member try the Hampton. It is not only nicer but less expensive as well.

Solid hotel in Providence, rooms are fine and comfortable, solid hilton standard. The checkin desk was great and everything else, the only let down that stopped me giving it a 4 was the lack lustre breakfast - arrived at 1015am for an 11am close - everything was a complete MESS. and have the stuff was gone or missing. Completely fake staff - i mean there is fake and then there is being really fake in a joking way - and it was a complete joke the breakfast area. Had to wait 30 mins after sitting down to be even offered coffee and that was only because he thought he could get a tip. What a joke, but otherwise great hotel. The quality of the food products at breakfast had a lot to be desired.

Thank you for your posting. We appreciate your feedback, and apologize for your experience at our breakfast. Our "Award Winning" Breakfast is one of many reasons our guest come back to the Hilton, and we fell short of delivering that experience to you.

Thank you for you kind words about our Font Desk staff. We would like to discuss this further with you, and appreciate any consideration you can give to allow us the opportunity to host you in the future.

Thank you,

The HIlton Providence is nicer inside than it appears from the outside -- the exterior looks pretty dated when you pull up to the hotel. Parking is annoying -- the cheapest option appears to be $25 overnight self-parking (I believe $28 if you valet), and there don't appear to be any pay-lots or overnight street parking nearby (when I asked, the hotel staff confirmed my only options were to park in the garage).

The room was fine and clean, and the bed was comfortable. There's a Starbucks attached to the hotel. I was only here one night, and it had a better corporate rate (by about 30%) vs the Westin down the street.

We enjoyed dinner downtown at Constantino's one night, then the Providence Oyster Bar the second evening.

Located right next to the Dunkin Donuts Center and a short walk to the mall, downtown and Federal Hill. We stayed for a night and parked our car, walked to everywhere. Short walk to Federal Hill for diner, short walk to the canal where we saw the lighting of the river with real wood (great to see) and right next to the Dunkin Donut Center where there was a concert that night so a lot of concert goers stayed at the hotel. No worries, slept right through the night and didnt hear a thing. Rooms where clean and very comfortable. When you book your room you can choose to reserve the breakfast at Don Shulas with an entrance from the lobby and for us it was worth it. HAd everything you need and more. Great place to stay.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the "Waterfire" while staying in Providence.

Our location is one of the best in DT Providence. A short walk to Federal Hill, next door to the Dunkin Donuts Center, and all that Providence has to offer is why so many of our guest return to the Hilton. We appreciate your feedback, and look forward to hosting you again soon!

We stayed three nights at the hotel as a part of a tour group. The hotel is very conveniently located. We walked to many places including Water Fire, Federal Hill, restaurants and shopping. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. It was so quiet!

The manager and serving staff in the hotel restaurant, Schula's, was excellent. We enjoyed conversations with them while we ate. The meals were well prepared.

The Hilton is a good place to stay in Providence!

Thank you for posting your feedback regarding your recent trip to Providence. We enjoy hearing when we are doing well, and are pleased that the staff took good care of you.

Our on site restaurant, Shula's, offers signature cut steaks at a very reasonable price. Not only are the steaks great, but the desserts and service keep people coming back time and again. Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope you come back to visit the Hilton and Shula's soon.

This hotel was perfect for what I needed for my one night stay in Providence. The rooms were sizeable and clean and there is a nice lobby and good bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I particularly liked the bellman Manny! He got us a taxi twice when apparently it is not easy to do so in Providence and made one wait for us while we were running late - a top man! It's well located near the impressive shopping centre in the city and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again if I came back to Providence!
