Driving through Providence I found Union Station on my GPS, and decided to give it a try. Although it is located right downtown, we had no difficulty finding a parking spot in a lot right next door ($8.00 however). This place is not like a lot of the Brewpubs I have visited. As you come through the door you realize that it is much more "upscale" than usual. Often the restaurant part of the Brewery is an afterthought, and added to the Brewery, but Union Station is more a restaurant with a Brewery behind it.
The beer was excellent, but be prepared to try their own brews as they do not have anything else behind the bar. To me this was not a problem, as I go to Brewpubs to sample local craft beer, and their IPA was excellent with a nice hoppy flavor.
I had the Bourbon salmon and it was a treat. The salmon was cooked nicely and with the spicy chili glaze added a really delicious spicy addition to the salmon. The vegetables accompanying the salmon were equally well done and tasty.
If you are in Providence, I can recommend the Union Station Brewery. Good beer and excellent food.
