“Convenient location, remodeled lobby”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Enjoyed a free night here recently thanks for Marriott. Have stayed here a few times previously, was pleased to see the newly remodeled lobby and common area on the first floor.

Our king room on the seventh floor overlooked Waterplace park and the State Capitol. Rooms are a bit larger than average, high celings, reasonably roomy bathrooms.

For whatever reason, the icemaker on our floor was out of service. And the one on the sixth floor. And the one on the fifth floor. No signs indicating they were out of order, guests just had to figure it out on their own. Finally find a working model on the third floor. What's up with that? At least let your guests know ahead of time or provide some signage.

Wifi is free, parking is not. Small surface lot at entrance or adjacent parking garage.

Can't beat the location for access to Waterfire, Providence Place, Convention Center, Dunkin Donuts arena, colleges.

This was a very convenient location, only a block away from the tourist-trolley/ bus station. When we checked in the day prior to Easter, they allowed us an early check-in at noon as well as a late check-out the following day.

The room was spacious and nice; however, as previous others have advised, our lower, third floor room on the main street was noisy in the morning. Staff were unfailingly accommodating and polite. Lots of nearby places to dine within walking distance. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Not a luxurious bathroom, if that's a priority.

Went to providence for a weekend get away and found the hotel was in a great location. Located in a little cluster of great restaurants and bars for night life. If you are looking for a hotel where you have everything around, this is the place.

My one con is parking. The parking was a little steep to park at the hotel lot. The lot below was only 7 dollars cheaper. If you are just staying for one night, its not bad but be prepared.

Beautiful hotel, perfect location right near Providence Place Mall, walking distance to everything - comfortable beds, free wi-fi, $20 parking (not bad for the area) - great place to stay for college visits!

Room Tip: we had a king with sleeper sofa for 3 - I would try to get 2 queens -

I am a very loyal Marriott customer, and normally stay at Marriotts whenever possible. That's why this stay was very disappointing. We were "greeted" by Sam, who never once said either "please" or "thank-you" during our check in process. Instead, it was, "I need your credit card" and "there you go".

Went to our room and the key didn't work (he only gave us one key, though my wife was standing right next to me. So, back to the front desk for another key, along with a good number of other guests who were also having problems with their keys. In fact, half of our group had keys that didn't work... multiple times.

As bad as the front desk was, that's how good engineering was. While Sam advised me that it was likely my fault the key didn't work as I "put it close to a cell phone", the guy from engineering told me they've been having problems with the keys lately.

Sunday, when checking out, one of the two elevators was out of service, so lines to go up or down were horrible, since the guests and housekeeping were both using one elevator. All in all, a disappointing stay at what is normally a reliable brand.

The location is perfect for everyone who want to have a nice time in Providence. I went for business on March, but i suggest to visit Providence during the summer time when the river activities are happening. There are all types of restaurants in a walking distance, including shopping malls. Nice staff, big rooms and clean areas. The pool, gym and grocery store are the nice extras in the hotel. Love my stay and i will be back for vacations.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors and away from the elevators are quieter

I stayed here for one night to attend an event at the Dunkin Donuts Center. This hotel is in a great location for that - we walked to the concert easily! We also walked to the mall and to Federal Hill for dinner from the hotel. It was fantastic!

Our room was large (a corner room with lots of windows!) and very, very clean!

I would absolutely stay here again when visiting Providence.

The staff was also great at providing directions and suggestions for activities in the area.
