I am currently looking for a hotel in Caliornia and decided to look at the reviews for Providence (since I have lived in the city for 9 years) to see how true the reviews are. I was shocked to see the Sportsmen Inn listed here and on other travel sights since it's not exactly a family atsomphere. I can't make any claims about the "Inn" since I have never stayed there but the lobby is basically a strip club! It's a bit sketchy at the very least. Just wanted to give people a heads up (hoping that I recieve the same courtesy when looking for hotels in other areas of the country that I'm not familiar with-YIKES!) Providence hotels can be pricey- Marriot Courtyard is a good value and great location so are hotels in Warwick RI and Seekonk Massachusettes -both are about a 10 minute drive outside the city.
