I you like to feel like you are imposing on a weird relative when you travel, this B & B is the place for you. After the owner greeted us in pjs, slippers, and a robe at 7pm, she ordered me to sign the guestbook and to do it "properly" and not "mess it up" so that everyone else would know how to do it. After asking us what we wanted to drink for breakfast, she whipped out a map and told us where to eat and where to park the next day. My husband and I were trying to be friendly to her, but seriously, all we wanted to do was get away. She was so bossy! This was followed by a 5 minute instructional lesson on "How to Lock/Unlock the Door" and a not-so-veiled threat that if someone let her dog out, the dog would die and so would the person who let her out.
Finally, my husband and I were shown to our room. The room was ok--it wasn't tastfully decorated or anything, but it was clean and uncluttered. Then she pointed to an extra door in the room that was locked from our side and sharply told us, "Don't get curious!" She explained that the door led to a hall where she kept a light on for other people staying here and she had put something along the bottom of the door to block out the light--if we opened the door, we wouldn't be able to put the light blocker back. This would be all well and good except for the fact that the door was an accordian door with a hinge in the middle so it really didn't matter that the bottom was blocked since light shined in the crack and right onto the bed all night long.
As other reviewers said, breakfast was sub par--just warmed bread, a hunk of not good cheese, and a store bought coffee cake- and we were not even greated with a "good morning" or "how did you sleep." Needless to say, my husband and I quickly ate our cold breakfast and got out of there. She was still wearing her pjs and robe. Don't stay here!!! Worst B&B experience ever. She should pay people to stay with her.
