“Glad we chose Rocky Mountain Park Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

We arrived on Monday, Sept. 9th, expecting to stay for 3 nights. We had made reservations by phone with a helpful young man. We didn't know what to expect, but the lobby was inviting and our room was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The breakfast buffet was great. We were liking it just fine, and then the rains and the flooding came. That is when we found out how lucky we were to be there. Half of the staff couldn't get in to work, but our room was thoroughly cleaned and the people were all friendly and helpful. The food they put out would have been outstanding in any circumstances, but they did it with limited help and inventory. The food service people were superb! We had to stay an extra night when all the roads out of town were closed. The lady at the front desk couldn't have been nicer. Turned out she couldn't get home and there was flooding at her house, but she kept on helping us all out with information and suggestions. We were glad to have the same room, and booked it for two nights, just in case. On Friday, we were told that the Trail Ridge Road was open. We didn't know whether to stay where we were - safe and comfortable, or try to get back to Denver for our tour that was starting Saturday morning. We finally decided to go, and were comforted to be told they would fit us in if we had to come back. We did make it to Denver that day, but if we ever get back to Estes Park, Rocky Mountain Park Inn would definitely be our hotel of choice.

Room Tip: I would not have liked to be facing the pool. We had a good mountain view from our window.
See more room tips
Green Features: Liked the separate bin for recycling, especially since we were drinking so much bottled water.

Hello:

Thank you for your feedback! What a lovely review - thank you so much. Like many of our friends and neighbors in Estes, homes of our staff have been damaged or destroyed. It's comments like yours that make it all worth it and warm the hearts of folks who continued to come to work in the face of great adversity.

Please visit us once again when we're a little drier and have a few more roads!

This is a wonderful place to stay close to the entrance to RMNP. The staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel at home. The restaurant had a great selection, good food, and thoughtful wait staff.

Room Tip: Choose a suite room on the street side for a nice view of the town.

Green Features: Recycling bins are in the room and make it easy to recycle paper and glass. The motel also encourages reuse of linens. Nicely done!

As evacuees of the recent Estes Park flood we went to the Rocky Mountain Park Inn blindly just glad to find a dry room anywhere. Oh my goodness, we were delighted with every aspect of our stay. Both the room and the bathroom were lovely with abundant pillows and nice decor. The bath was quite pleasant with an expanded swing-out shower curtain. But the best part of the stay was the personnel; every single person from the front desk to the waitresses to the cleaning people went out of their way to meet every need. Both dinner and breakfast were FREE for the evacuees. One would expect free food to be only basic, but both meals were delicious. We were actually quite sad to have to leave! I highly recommend it, and the location is excellent.

Room Tip: Probably best to get a room not too close to the pool.

Hello:

Thank you for your feedback. We're all pleased to see that you were safe and dry, and enjoyed some terrific hospitality during your stay! Many of our staff were directly affected by the floods and came to work during a difficult time. We're all pleased to see you noticed smliling faces and great attiutudes with the adversity we faced this month.

Thank you and we hope you to return to Estes again very soon! Mountain Strong!

When reading reviews about this hotel and the ratings of hotels in Estes Park we were surprised to find that this hotel was much better than the reviews had indicated. It was rated #21 but we found it much more comfortable than another we stayed in that had a higher rating on the list. It was also considerably less money. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable, and it was quiet. We were also given a coupon of $20 for breakfast. Their breakfast buffet had just about everything you could imagine. We'd definitely recommend this hotel to others. It's conveniently located to downtown and to the Fairgrounds where the annual Scottish/Irish Festival is held. The staff was friendly and helpful. Check in and check out efficient.

Room Tip: For breakfast, one beverage is allowed per person without addition charge.

We stayed here for three nights, originally allocated a room with balcony and pool view. However, the chloride which steeped the corridor was very over-powering and the room had no natural sunlight we felt it would be difficult to stay for three nights. The staff at reception were wonderful when I explained and we were relocated, however, the hotel, corridors and room are in need of refurbishment to bring them into this century... Location is prefect though .....

Hello:

Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to see that our wonderfull staff took great care of you when you asked about a room move. Our stellar staff is our biggest asset. Rooms overlooking the indoor pool do not have windows facing outdoors as they face the Bromine treated indoor pool, however, we have 135 other rooms with outside facing windows. We are always happy to accommodate room moves for anyone at anytime - just by asking! We continue our renovations this winter, resulting in all-new beautiful new guest bathrooms by spring. Corridor renovations were completed last year.

Thank You for your business.

I was in Estes Park for a wedding, and basically just needed a crash pad, and this was exactly what this place was utilized for. They have a pool, which actually came in handy as i went swimming one day. Overall, the service was great though, I am from out of town; so I needed help with directions/cabs etc. The guy at the front desk was great upon check in, even providing maps, and driving directions. We had laid out plans; but a little time off - he gave us a few key places to hit, etc.

Overall great little spot.

So this Inn is not the most up to date as far as decor goes, but it does offer quite a nice night's stay.
Reasonably priced, and very comfortable beds, nice dark window coverings, and super quiet.
Easy access in and out.
We had a great time going in and out of the park, and settled in each night to a great night's sleep.
A solid choice through and through. Close to local resteraunts and offers breakfast too.
