My boyfriend and I stayed at the Wildwood Inn in mid-September
to celebrate my birthday. The moment we walked in I knew we had made the right choice. The condo was very roomy and
the decor was done with a "Colorado Western" flair. My boyfriend had arranged for the management to have a bottle of champagne, roses, and a birthday cake waiting for me when we arrived. They had it arranged very nicely on our wood dining table.
We stayed in the upper level deer run condos with an outdoor jacuzzi on the deck. The view was spectacular and the jacuzzi was wonderful after a long hike. We enjoyed just sitting on the deck and admiring the beautiful rockies. In fact that is where we spent the majority of our time. The king size bed was very comfortable and both of us slept very well. Every morning we
heard elk and saw them several times behind the property. We also spotted a red fox one evening. The convenience to the park was unsurpassable. We also took a horseback ride with Gateway Stables which is literally 2 minutes up the road just before the park entrance. The horses were very
easy to ride and the trail very easy to manuever. We saw a very large elk bull in the woods and also spotted a coyote. I also recommend doing the ghost tour at the Stanley Hotel. It was alot of fun, interesting, and spooky! ! Our favorite restaurant was the "Twin Owl's steakhouse". It was cozy and the steaks were great. The staff at Wildwood were happy to answer any questions and offered suggestions. They have movies at the office you can rent for free with a decent selection..They even provided the charcoal for the grill on our front deck when we barbequed one night. I read some reviews where some people complained about the non maid service. It was no big deal to us we just emptied our garbage and hung the laundry bag on the door when we needed more towels, no sweat. Frankly, we appreciated the privacy. We had an excellent time here and I would recommend the Wildwood Inn to families or couples just seeking a romantic getaway.

“Perfect Getaway - #17”

Wildwood Inn

Nov 24, 2007

This was the second time we have stayed in the Aspen lodge rooms at the Wildwood Inn. We love the fireplace and the full kitchen, and the wonderfully peaceful time in November. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the location is stunning, often with elk walking the property. It's a favorite of ours!

“Clean, tasteful, roomy, more than worth the higher price”

Wildwood Inn

Nov 14, 2007

This hotel is more expensive than the average hotel in Estes Park, but more than worth the higher price. It is a short drive away from the main strip, which made for peaceful nights sitting out on the balcony.

We stayed in a $190 per night suite with a separate bedroom, a full kitchen, and a hot tub in the room. The suite was very clean, roomy, and tastefully decorated. The high-quality furniture gave the room a luxurious homey feel, rather than a "don't break me" feel that many hotels have.

There is no maid service, but this can be requested. If you only want clean towels, you have to hang your dirty towels in a bag on a hook outside the door, where they will leave new towels in the bag in the afternoon. I guess this is OK if you don't want random interruptions.

The only negative, was a note left by the kitchen sink saying the kitchen must be left as it was found, or there will be a 15 percent fee added. What does this mean? Does it mean we would have been charged the fee if we left a dirty dish out when we left? This made us feel uncomfortable. If it weren't for this, I would have rated this hotel a five.

If you want to stay at a hotel well above the standards of the average hotel in Estes Park, we would highly recommend the Wildwood.

“Just Exactly Perfect”

After reading some mixed reviews out here earlier this summer, we opted to try our luck with Wildwood and were very happy we did. My wife and I stayed in a studio unit for a couple nights and just loved it! The room itself was very spacious and had a small kitchenette for preparing breakfast and lunches, a sitting area and a fireplace. Our favorite feature though was the private hot tub on the deck which was just wonderful after a hike in RMNP. Wildwood is ridiculously convenient to the park's main entrance too. Some folks out here complained about lack of service or housekeeping but these are condo type rentals, not hotel rooms so I don't understand the complaints. Besides that, it's pretty clear when you rent these that that's the policy. If you can't manage to pick up your own mess, than maybe this isn't the place for you but we had no problem and actually enjoyed not having to worry about when housekeeping might arrive like at other inns. They will give you clean towels if you request them so again, no big deal. Our biggest regret was that we didn't have more time here. We nearly canceled our reservation at our next destination but ultimately had to move on. We will return to Wildwood and will plan on staying longer next time!

“Lovely Place, Lovely People”

Wildwood Inn

Nov 11, 2007

We got to WildWood really early (about 2 hours before stated checkin) and John helped us with no problem. He also provided lots of information about the extra services they provide (computer stations, menus from many different restaurants, housekeeping policy, etc) and gave us directions to our room.

It was awesome. It felt like I was at home (only with a better bed) with a fully equiped kitchen and a spacious sitting room.

The bed was so comfy with lots of fluffy pillows and the views from the balcony and windows were amazing. We saw elk, foxes, and deer everyday. Also I had coffee sitting on a rock down by the stream right outside our room in the morning. It was beautiful.

Also, John went out of his way to make our trip memorable (we got engaged!!) by helping us make dinner reservations and giving us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.

The price was unbelievable. Crazy affordable at $86/night for three nights.

We'll be back. Every year if we can help it. :)
