“Perfect Getaway - #17”

Wildwood Inn

Nov 24, 2007

This was the second time we have stayed in the Aspen lodge rooms at the Wildwood Inn. We love the fireplace and the full kitchen, and the wonderfully peaceful time in November. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the location is stunning, often with elk walking the property. It's a favorite of ours!

“Clean, tasteful, roomy, more than worth the higher price”

Wildwood Inn

Nov 14, 2007

This hotel is more expensive than the average hotel in Estes Park, but more than worth the higher price. It is a short drive away from the main strip, which made for peaceful nights sitting out on the balcony.

We stayed in a $190 per night suite with a separate bedroom, a full kitchen, and a hot tub in the room. The suite was very clean, roomy, and tastefully decorated. The high-quality furniture gave the room a luxurious homey feel, rather than a "don't break me" feel that many hotels have.

There is no maid service, but this can be requested. If you only want clean towels, you have to hang your dirty towels in a bag on a hook outside the door, where they will leave new towels in the bag in the afternoon. I guess this is OK if you don't want random interruptions.

The only negative, was a note left by the kitchen sink saying the kitchen must be left as it was found, or there will be a 15 percent fee added. What does this mean? Does it mean we would have been charged the fee if we left a dirty dish out when we left? This made us feel uncomfortable. If it weren't for this, I would have rated this hotel a five.

If you want to stay at a hotel well above the standards of the average hotel in Estes Park, we would highly recommend the Wildwood.

“Just Exactly Perfect”

After reading some mixed reviews out here earlier this summer, we opted to try our luck with Wildwood and were very happy we did. My wife and I stayed in a studio unit for a couple nights and just loved it! The room itself was very spacious and had a small kitchenette for preparing breakfast and lunches, a sitting area and a fireplace. Our favorite feature though was the private hot tub on the deck which was just wonderful after a hike in RMNP. Wildwood is ridiculously convenient to the park's main entrance too. Some folks out here complained about lack of service or housekeeping but these are condo type rentals, not hotel rooms so I don't understand the complaints. Besides that, it's pretty clear when you rent these that that's the policy. If you can't manage to pick up your own mess, than maybe this isn't the place for you but we had no problem and actually enjoyed not having to worry about when housekeeping might arrive like at other inns. They will give you clean towels if you request them so again, no big deal. Our biggest regret was that we didn't have more time here. We nearly canceled our reservation at our next destination but ultimately had to move on. We will return to Wildwood and will plan on staying longer next time!

“Lovely Place, Lovely People”

Wildwood Inn

Nov 11, 2007

We got to WildWood really early (about 2 hours before stated checkin) and John helped us with no problem. He also provided lots of information about the extra services they provide (computer stations, menus from many different restaurants, housekeeping policy, etc) and gave us directions to our room.

It was awesome. It felt like I was at home (only with a better bed) with a fully equiped kitchen and a spacious sitting room.

The bed was so comfy with lots of fluffy pillows and the views from the balcony and windows were amazing. We saw elk, foxes, and deer everyday. Also I had coffee sitting on a rock down by the stream right outside our room in the morning. It was beautiful.

Also, John went out of his way to make our trip memorable (we got engaged!!) by helping us make dinner reservations and giving us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.

The price was unbelievable. Crazy affordable at $86/night for three nights.

We'll be back. Every year if we can help it. :)

“Wonderful stay - lovely indoor jacuzzi”

My boyfriend and I took a last-minute vacation to the Colorado Rockies and ended up staying here for a couple of days after the Labor Day weekend. This place was marvelous, service was good, and I would not mind coming back to try out another unit.

We stayed in a 1BR fireside indoor jacuzzi suite. The place was enormous!!! There were only 2 of us, but the place could easily accommodate 6-8 people. There was a bed-in-the-wall in the living room and I believe the couch was a sofa sleeper. The kitchen (fully equipped with full size appliances) and living room area were large, and you could watch TV and enjoy the fireplace from the jacuzzi. Even the bathroom was huge. The patio was very large, too, and it had the most amazing mountain view. There was a very large patio table out there so a family could have a nice breakfast outdoors.

The bed (king size) was super comfortable. Everything was very clean and immaculate. It had all the comforts - flat screen tv, dvd player, cd player, stereo system, and even a videogame player. The indoor jacuzzi was gorgeous. It was beautiful and kept well. It was really luxurious to sit in the jacuzzi after a long day of hiking. They had nice bath products to use in the tub as well. (Don't forget to clean it when you're done). They have an easy linen exchange system too -- put your dirty towels into a bag and hang it outside your door. Fresh ones will appear later.

I was surprised there was no A/C (it seemed like units in another building had A/C), but this place was large enough, not on the first floor, and had enough windows to cool off. My only complaint is that many of the windows in this 1BR were broken (the handle to open the windows were missing) and should have been replaced. I think only 2 windows in the whole place were working. Luckily, we felt comfortable enough to leave the patio door open and let the cool night air come in.

This place is wonderfully located between downtown Estes Park and one of the western entrances to the RMNP. The back of the building is a mountain side and we saw big sheep grazing back there. Just beautiful!

We didn't really see a lot of Wildwood employees here other than to check in, but they seemed very nice and efficient. We will definitely be back to try the other units, especially those with the outdoor hot tubs. Thank you, Wildwood!
