“Great 4 hour ride!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

My husband and I did the 4 hour ride in late September.....it was awesome! We saw dozens of elk (rut season) and enjoyed their bugleing throughout the ride. I was a little worried about being sore after 4 hours but it was not bad at all. We loved the ride so much, we both said we wished we had done a 6 or 8 hour. You just can't get tired of the beautiful surroundings. The horses were beautiful and the ride was well worth the money...definitely plan to return!

“Fun-filled 2 hours”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

We spent last week in Estes Park and RMNP and wanted to incorporate a horseback ride in our plans. After reviewing all of the horse riding stables we decided on Gateway because of the overwhelming number of great reviews. We were not disappointed. We chose the 2 hour ride. The wranglers were helpful and informative and kept a keen eye on my husband and I since were are novice riders. The scenery was beautiful and we got lots of gorgeous pics. My only suggestion would be to incorporate a quick break somewhere mid ride so that we could stretch our legs and readjust our position in the saddle. My husband was incorrectly seated in the saddle and pulled a leg muscle. Nothing major, just a little uncomfortable. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our ride and would definately recommend it to others.

“Giddy Up”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Well you really don't "giddy up", but what a nice horseback ride in the Rocky Mountain National Park. The wranglers were most helpful and patient and knowlegable. For being on a horse for the first time they made it enjoyable, the surroundings helped a bit to I guess!

“Relaxing and breathtaking ride through the park!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I decided to try out this stable after we had driven up Old Fall Rier Road and down Trail Ridge Road. We picked it for its convenient location but were pleasantly surprised with the beauty and relaxation of the ride. We went on the traditional 2 hour ride which was perfect. There were a few steep spots but the horses were confident and guided us through them without issue. You can tell they take good care of their horses and make sure they do not work them too hard. We feel the two hour ride would be great for couples or families. We definitely recommend National Park Gateway Stables!! (on a side note if you need to use the restroom before you take off on your ride you will need to go to the visitor center right up the road)

“Excellent Trail Ride”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

We are not experienced riders, but NPGS did everything they could to make us feel comfortable in the saddle! The trail was interesting as it wound through forests, meadows and on mountain trails. They did a great job of matching riders to horses. Our guide was interesting and informative and had a great sense of humor. All in all, a very pleasant experience that we wouldn't hesitate to repeat!
