I reserved a 4 hour Fly Fishing excursion with Kirk, and was paired with J.B., my guide for the day. Their list of options for locations was impressive, and they offered assurances that even though I'd never fly fished before they'd take good care of me. Having been a bass fisherman my whole life, I'd never given much thought to those guys in waders in the streams and ponds near my home on the east coast. J.B. greeted me with a smile, suited me up, and we were on the water right on time. Within a very short period of time, J.B. had me comfortable with the gear, and I was casting flys with little trouble. While some may measure a good day of fishing in the amount and size of fish caught (and I caught plenty, and good sized trout), I think the overall experience was enhanced by how much I learned from J.B. about the art and science of fly fishing. From reading the water, learning how to place flys in the right places, and his outstanding patience as I worked on some of the more challenging casting teqniques, J.B. was a professional and outstanding guide. Between the amazing Colorado scenery, the bountiful fish, and the lifetime of education in a few hours, these guys have you covered. If you are a fly fishing purist, someone who has fly fishing on a bucket list, or just want to find out what it's all about, Kirk and company have the tour for you. My only complaint was I only signed up for 4 hours-do yourself a favor and make it 6 or 8!
