“Almost everything was as expected.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

There were no surprises. Clean, quick service, continental breakfast, hot tub. Price was decent. My only comment regarding less than stellar and room for improvement was the front desk 'friendly' service. There are many hotel/motel choices in Estes Park and I'm most likely to return to the one that acts like they appreciate my business. Several contacts with front desk person was less than cordial, and rather hurried. Just didn't leave an impression of "I'm glad you're here".

I feel some things that are important, at least to me,have been omitted in prior reviews.

1.This is a glorified motel.
2. There is a strong air freshener used that I could not get rid of no matter how long I left the door open and the windows. ( for me this translates to a taste in my mouth, headache, nausea and irritated eyes. It doesn't bother my husband one bit. )
3. It is off a road with few cars but when they come by they definitely swoosh. Perhaps not audible if the windows are closed.

All this said, the room is clean and all else is as others have described it.

Thank you very much for staying with us, and we truly believe you enjoyed your stay. As your husband was leaving the lobby, his exact unsolicited words were "Great stay, keep up the good work." If that isn't a positive review, I don't know what is. For any other potential guests that read this:
1. We own a charming motel - the room doors open to the outside. If you're looking for more (or less), we'd be happy to recommend somewhere that better suits your needs.
2. Sometimes we use air fresheners in the rooms, and on this evening we had four other rooms available. If a guest lets us know about an issue, we will do whatever we possibly can to make them happy.
3. We are located on Elkhorn Avenue, which is the street that connects to Estes' vibrant downtown full of shops and restaurants - and yes, there can be a bit of traffic noise from time to time - but if you read reviews, it's rarely, if ever, mentioned.
Guest happiness is our #1 priority - even if that means somewhere else would be a better fit - we want everyone to enjoy their time in such a beautiful part of the country.

What a lovely place to stay when visiting RMNP. It's small, quiet, pretty, and close to the park. The room had everything I needed and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was good and the hot tub was great to come home to after a day of hiking. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable but not "in your face" like some inns.

Room Tip: Room #1 is quiet, in the back

Green Features: They could add recycling bins to the rooms and/or lobby, breakfast room. They could also use more eco-friendly breakfast utensils. But I don't think recycling is big in Colorado.

Stayed here based on TripAdvisor reviews and we were very glad we did!
A very cozy place with nice added touches in the rooms. Very clean and the owners make you feel very welcome. The shower head will make you want to stay in the shower for ever.
The outside hot tub and fireplace was nice as well.
The breakfast is nothing to shout about but they do have fruit and other smaller item choices like snack bars, etc.
If you are looking for a nice place to stay The Maxwell Inn is the place to stay. There is a reason it is rated #1 on here..!

Room Tip: #4 was great 2 room queen

We made a quick weekend trip to Estes Park from our home in Pueblo. We got very lucky when we selected the Maxwell Inn... the owners were gracious and very helpful, the room was nicely done and very comfortable, and the location was ideal. We'll be back!

We visited Maxwell Inn in early April. Dana and Peter made us feel at home with their friendly service and catered to our every need. They are very down to earth people. The room was comfortable and is within walking distance to the town. Their daughter Gillian is a lovely girl who helped entertain our two toddlers. If you want home away from home this is a perfect place.

My military boyfriend and I went up to Estes/RMNP for Easter weekend and spent Saturday night at the Maxwell Inn. It was one of the best places I've stayed ever, and especially on a budget. The woman at the front desk was very genuine, sweet and helpful. The room was clean, beautiful and comfortable. We had the single king room and it was the perfect amount of space and the view was lovely. Breakfast, despite being 'continental', was the best selection I've encountered and was actually worth eating, ha. Fantastic stay, lovely facility, thank you!

Wow! We love hearing that you found everything you needed in our continental breakfast. We have taken suggestions from previous guests and hopefully found a good mix of breakfast items that will suit the majority (sorry, still no steak and eggs)! Please let us know when you and your boyfriend are ready for another getaway, we would love for you to stay with us again.
