We stayed at the Maxwell inn for 2 nights in august and could not have imagined a better hotel! Great location: close to downtown but in a quieter area down the road, peaceful. We asked for restaurant recommendations at the front desk and were given great ideas, and she marked their locations on the map for us, which was very helpful! (We suggest poppys pizza in the downtown area! great food and outdoor seating by the river, fyi!!) Saw 2 elk in the yard when we first checked in! We were in room 7, it was nicely decorated, a rustic feel, updated, and very clean, with air conditioning Hummingbird feeders and lavender growing in the front yard, very quaint, with benches to sit and watch for elk! Also, a firepit and hot tub at the hotel, (we didn't use because we were too tired every night) but nice to know they were there!! Continental breakfast included with coffee, yogurt, cereal, granola bars, toast, fresh fruit. Dvds available in the lobby, and our room had a dvd player, which we didn't utilize but was a nice touch, especially if you have kids! all good! Highly recommended. Would stay here again. Very well run.
