This was the second time that we stayed at Misty Mountain and we simply love it. The atmosphere is so friendly, it is walking distance to Estes Park restaurants, shopping and the scenic river walk. The Owners Peter and Ellen went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We will certainly stay there again and would highly recommend this destination especially for families.

The people were very friendly, the carriage house set-up (room #4) was nice and cosy, and it was really neat to have a kicthenette and dishes provided- although we didn't get a chance to take advantage of it. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower had plenty of hot water. We didn't spend much time actually in the lodge (we were guests at a wedding held at another lodge), but the time there was quite relaxing. Reasonably priced, less than 2 blocks from the downtown mainstreet, and overall highly reccomended.

My mother and I have stayed here for several years now and have always had a great experience. Reasonable rates, very friendly owners, and we like having a lot of room so we always book one of the suites, even if it's just the two of us. The hot tub with the view of the mountain right behind it is fantastic. Great location, within walking distance of downtown, so you park the car in the lot and forget about it until it's time to venture outside of town. The only drawback is that the rooms do not have phones and cell reception in the area isn't great, but Misty Mountain does offer wifi and has a courtesy phone anyone can use. Definitely recommend.

Room tip: Go for a suite, kitchen and much roomier.

My wife and I loved the fact that the Misty Mountain Lodge was a 5 minute walk to downtown Estes Park. The full kitchen and gas grill right outside our door offered an opportunity to bring our own food. The hot tub with a view of the Rockies was an added bonus. The room was clean and cozy, and we will stay here again the next time we come to Estes Park.

I have very mixed feelings about Misty Mountain Lodge, first because it is very expensive for how worn down and gritty the rooms are (though every place in Estes Park is high), and second because despite the discomfort, the owners who run the place will bend over backwards to help you get the most out of your Estes Park stay. I just did not like being in our room at all: the beds were uncomfortable; the decor was dark; the furniture very dated; it was like an old musty motel. Still, as long as I could get out and go places (with Peter and his wife's on-the-mark advice) I did have a good time. Overall, I would not stay here again. I know many people seem to come back here year after year because they like the family-run feel of the place, but I would not. There are many places that are so much better for the money--or at least for a little bit more.

Room tip: Get a room away from the road.
