“Pricey but beautiful location, nice staff, big apartment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

Three of our family stayed here overnight, the apartment was pricey but quite big, lots of forest-themed decorations, clean big beds. They need to throw out their worn area rugs, though, and I complained to them about the ratty rug surrounding the hot tub and told them it should be thrown away it had holes and was worn into strips. They removed it immediately and I felt much better, thank you Estes Park Condo staff! Has a nice bathroom upstairs and downstairs, a nice balcony overlooking Fall River, a kitchen that has a fridge, stove, microwave, plenty of room to work in. Has a nice table and chairs and plenty of easy chairs and a stone fireplace and TV. We'll stay here again on our next visit to Estes Park, its close to a lot of eating places and just outside Rocky Mountain National Park.

You cant beat the setting (BP #13) with the river right out your back door. The boys were able to fish and walk the river. We were close to downtown and the Rocky Mountain Natl Park. It was nice having a grill to cook on and the kitchen had the basics for dishes. The only thing that we were not very satisfied with was the sleeping situation. It says it can sleep up to 4 but the pull out couch was not a good situation and the mat they provided was OK but it was only good for one person and it was too late to contact the office when we realized this problem. The next night we got another mat and that helped but it was a lot of money to be spending for mat sleeping for teenagers. We would probably stay again but spend more money to get 2 real beds. The staff was very willing to help with information and service for the units.

Beautiful location next to the river (condo#9). Close to town and National Park. The rooms were serviced daily if you put a sign on your door. The sound of the river was so calming we kept the windows opened all the time. We had a BBQ on our patio which was very convenient for cooking our dinner. Would stay here again.

Fantastic place to stay. Condo right on the river ( #2 Creekside). Great quality accommodation for the price. Short distance to Estes for all your supplies. And right on the doorstop of the Rocky Mountain National Park for some brilliant scenery and walks.

We had two 2 bedroom cabins for 4 families. The condos have a fantastic location right on the river. It is very close to the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and just a short 5 minute drive into Estes Park. The condos are rather small, but fairly well appointed. Beautiful high ceilings with a wood finish give it a great mountain home feel. There is a fireplace that turns on with the flip of a switch. The kitchens are useful with all the necessary appliances and all the pots and pans needed to cook a meal.

That is where the greatness stops and some poor execution renders this place less than stellar. First off, the furniture is entirely uncomfortable. There is only a small sofa and 3 metal kitchen chairs in a cabin that sleeps 6. When we sat around in the evening, the small sofa did not comfortably fit 3 people. The metal kitchen chairs would have been fine for a short breakfast, but were no substitute for real furniture when we were trying to enjoy a relaxing evening. The second cabin included similar furnishing, but also included a lovely wooden loveseat that was clearly designed more for form over function. It was impossible to get comfortable in the loveseat.

The bedrooms were a little better, but still disappointing. The beds were of the lowest grade of mattress and the bedding was of poor quality and had holes in it from people smoking (which is strictly against the property rules). We had 3 children in our group who slept on either the pullout sofa, or a foldable mattress provided by the property. Both were far inadequate for restful sleep. We ended up having a family member from nearby Fort Collins bring an air mattress for the kids to sleep on.

Overall, this place will work, but a little more effort would have made this place great. It would be fine for just a few people, but do not put more than 4 people in the cabins rated to sleep 6. For the price paid, I expected a lot more.

One of the biggest reasons for staying here was because they didn't demand a 3 night minimum which is an epic fail for other properties in Estes Park. We wanted to stay at the Overlook Condos at the Stanley but they were full.
- Check in was a breeze. They have a shuttle that picks up at their property which we didn't use because the last one is at 9 and we stayed out much later than that!
- The condo was small but perfect for our needs.
- GREAT bed, excellent pillows.
- We did cook and they had what we needed. Pans, pot holders, paper towels, dish soap, and so on. *No dishwasher so you will be washing dishes.
- You need to bring spices, oils, aluminum foil.
- They had a coffee pot with filters which is most excellent.
- The hot tub was a two person hot tub and it was great except the jets didn't work. You have privacy on your deck while in the hot tub. Love! Sitting in the hot tub with a full moon at night was simply amazing.
- No A/C in the condo but there were fans and heat wasn't an issue (we went in July)
- Check out is "Promptly at 10" - we just got engaged while hiking a HUGE mountain and asked for a late check out and they were fine with it which was appreciated.
- Eating breakfast on our porch with the sounds of the river was fantastic. Everyone else at the property around us seemed to be older so when we ate breakfast around 10:30-11 we were all alone which is awesome.

Other quick tips - Marys Lake Lodge (the tavern) is a must for drinks or dinner. Nicky's was a HUGE disappointment and very expensive. The Stanley (Cascade) for drinks is also a must (it is expensive too but oh so fun), especially for Scotch Drinkers (largest selection of Scotch in Colorado - get a flight of Scotch) and The Dunraven Inn for dinner - we will go there every single time we are in Estes because it is THAT good.
