“Very interesting...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

This is a great place to get the history and feel of Estes Park. Lots of informative historical displays, photos and documents. This museum is a good place to take first time visitors. Like the on sight features out back of the museum building...don't miss them. Good way to spend a morning/afternoon if you can't be outdoors!

“Museum tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

This was a nice place to get some of the history of the town. It also had some of the background of RNMP. They have two exhibits in back that are not to be missed. First is a collection of photographs over the years, the other is an original log cabin that was converted to a summer guest house.

“What a nice surprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

Very nice museum--well worth a visit to learn how the area was discovered and grew. It touches on every culture involved. It is small enough that you could take older children and they wouldn't grow too bored. The lovely lady in attendance was very informative as well.

“History Galore”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

A must see for history buffs. This museum offers a very interesting and abundant history of the Estes region from the days of the first Ute indians, Lord Dunraven and F.O. Stanley (Stanley steamer and Stanley Hotel fame) to the terror of the Big Thompson and Lawn Lake floods that devastated the area in past decades. It is a testament to the resilience of the residents of Estes Park through good times and bad.

“Nice museum.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

This museum covers the history of Estes Park. There is also the Stanley Steamer on display. Behind the museum is an old log cabin that was located in town, and the original RMNP headquarters that was used around 1915. Nice place to spend an hour.
