“Nice, but older hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

In most ways we had a great stay. But we certainly agreement that te photo's of the rooms are a bit misleading.
The room we got was so small, bathroomdoor didn't close well, it had to be shut with alot of force.
But the staff was so friendly.
Also a very good king bed in the room. And the view from the room was also Nice. Good to mention is that it is really quiet at night...what more do we want.
Hopefully they will update the rooms.

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to send us your feedback. We're very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we read every review carefully to help us know where we can improve!

We have around 20 different room types in different price ranges and under various stages of remodeling. Since we had a limited number of photos to take and post we chose our very best ones that represented the direction in which we are rapidly heading. We do also have photos of our vintage or retro rooms posted as well.

We have a dozen bathrooms scheduled for remodeling this winter as well as more improvements for the bedrooms. Do come back and check us out if you're back in Estes Park!

Came to Estes Park for a wedding and reserved rooms here well in advance as it was prime time for hikers and prices were high. This was lowest by far and we just needed a clean place for the short stay. We were very pleasantly surprised. Place was exceptionally clean. The place was really quiet. We needed a few things like hair drier and iron and the staff had those to us in a second. What really stands out is the friendliness of the staff, all of the staff. All were someone you'd like to have taking care of your wants anywhere you might stay. When back to Estes Park, we will stay at one of the two hotels these people own. Bill Pinkerton, Medina, Ohio

We had similar issue as a previous reviewer, we booked a room that was renovated only to found out it wasn't and no discount was offered. Having said that, we were given opportunity to check the room out the moment we tried to check in. We decided to take it as, it was similar to what was pictured (ie the renovated rooms).

I saw a room being renovated and to be honest, the bedding might have been upgraded but the main change was carpet. The ac unit appeared identical to ours so not sure how different the stay would have been. The 70s furniture (desk, chair, and armchair all remained too)

The place is old, built in the 70s and furniture in the room is as pictured. It's a budget accommodation as stated in the website. They are trying to upgrade it seems. Whatever you need the hotel staff will try and provide so I can sense they do mean well and trying to keep your stay happy.

The bathroom is tiny. and could be re-glazed as there were chips and towel bars could be added. There was no place to hang a towel as the hooks have fallen off, which leaves you with damp towels wherever you place them. Nothing dried in the room so I didn't like that part. I think there was room service but our room wasn't tidied up but you can ask for fresh towels and they drop it off quickly.

The bed was comfortable, sheets were old, there were small tears here and there but not scratchy, super bleached sheets either. THe pillows were very soft so you need to sleep with 2.

The noise levels, well let's say if your neighbours woke up at 6am to have a shower, you'll hear it. loud and clear. So regardless of upgraded room or not, the walls are thin and shower systems are loud.

We didn't use the AC or Heat so cant comment on noise levels. It was cold at night and we were ok with the temp inside. Both ac/heat units were 70s/80s like . There was a microwave and fridge in unit.

We noticed that there were other lodges that had vacancies so if you decide budget accommodation is not your thing, there are other options available in the town. I guess it all depends on when you arrive.

The review starts way before the actual visit. We were traveling as a large party (18) and staff, especially Nick did everything to accomodate us and made sure everyone was comfortable. The first night we stayed in a remodeled king room, which was very clean and nicely decorated, would be nice if window opened in room. Second night stayed in Jack #1 condo. It was great! The rooms were large, nice kitchen, living room and deck, could not have been more perfect, with a great view! I will stay here again when I am in the area. Will be nice to see when the complete remodel is finished, they are off to a good start!!

Wow, thank you so much for your very nice review! We love getting feedback from our guests, especially ones which mention our nice, friendly staff. In our opinion, it is definitely the most important compliment we can receive!

We purchased this older property just last year and have been working hard and fast to improve it as much as we can. It is our goal to provide the best budget lodging in an otherwise very expensive resort town.

Since we’re a “young” property, we will be constantly seeking feedback and making adjustments for many years so please come back soon and let us know that you’ve stayed before and we’ll set you up!

Thanks again for taking the time to write us. We really appreciate it!

Staff was very friendly; room was extremely clean and comfortable for our one night stay. Motel was nicely located for our needs. We didn't wish to stay right in town as we spent most of our Estes stay hiking around in the National Park. Only 2 complaints: 1)wish the window opened to get some fresh air in the room instead of using the AC and 2)when the neighboring room took showers, it was quite loud (the sound of the shower running) in our room but we couldn't hear any other noise from either of the neighboring rooms (like talking, tv, toilets flushing, etc.) so both are really only minor issues. If/when we are ever in the area again, we'll certainly stay another night at the Coyote Mountain Lodge!

We were able to get a room with 2 weeks notice in August. They accept dogs and that was a BIG plus for us. (we have a small one) Staff was very friendly, room was "retro" but clean and bed was comfy. Ask for a room with a window that opens if you can. In the summer, nights are nice and cool but the room is HOT without a window to open. (we brought a fan with us) the A/C was very small and old. We had a nice view & quiet night. Overall, a safe feeling and I'd stay again for a good price. PS: Chicago Best delivery GOOD pizza !

A great hotel for an overnight stay, everything you need, a friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help. This hotel is ideal for a budget place to stay in an otherwise expensive Estes Park area. Coffee provided in morning.
