“The place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

My husband and I had been in Denver for 6 days and drove up to Estes to soak up a little bit of
heaven for only one day. Upon arriving in town we began looking for a motel to stay in but one
right after another had extremely high prices. We finally stopped at the Coyote Mountain Lodge. To our surprise, the room was $69 just like the sign said. That got our attention.....
It was quiet, spacious, and clean. The attendant was most helpful in many ways. The mattress
was excellent which is unusual for an older motel. You could tell they were working to bring it up to snuff. To top it off they had just redone their pool and had a new hot tub. We were most
pleased and would recommend it to anyone. We will stay there the next time we visit Estes.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Coyote Mountain Lodge. While looking for accommodations in Estes, we wanted an affordable, clean place to stay and the Coyote was just that.

The rooms are not luxurious by any means, but probably have the most comfortable beds in Estes. It was the perfect place to rest after a long day of outdoor activities. The staff was very professional and welcoming. We would highly recommend.

Hits the sweet spot - Clean, comfortable, affordable. Refrig & microwave handy for people like us who got in late, and just wanted a snack in the room rather than dinner out. Location just fine, close to the Safeway. Friendly front desk. Didn't use the pool.

Room Tip: We liked staying in the lower section, away from the road.

Super comfy bed, luxurious heated pool, and very pet friendly. An $59? Are you serious? One of the coolest things about our stay though was how the staff went out of their way to make us feel like GUESTS.

Thank you so much for your very nice review of our place, the Coyote Mountain Lodge. As you may have been told when you checked in, we bought this property in February and have been scrambling to renovate what we could in the first few months, beginning with the beds. We'll be remodeling many of the bathrooms, enlarging them and updating the fixtures. Guests like you really make our job enjoyable! Please check us out again in the future.

Safe travels,

We stayed here for one night. I was very happy with our room. It was very clean and comfortable. There was a bit of noise from people walking on the walkway outside but it really was not an issue. The hotel was built in the 50's so the rooms are a bit small.
Don't expect a five star hotel and you will be very happy here.
We noticed the showerhead was a bit low but we are short so it was not an issue. The bathroom could also use an exhaust fan.
We will definitely stay here again as long as they can keep their prices low.
I cannot wait to see it after the remodeling is done.

Room Tip: The wooden walkway may be a bit noisy. In the summer when there are children playing in the pool, yo...

The Coyote could use remodeling. But then the rates would go up. So if you are OK with older properties with a location on the edge of town, with great rates for the fall elk-bugling season, this is the place.

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback on our property. We just purchased the property in Feb. and are renovating the buildings one at a time. It has been a very fun but very BIG job. We hope that the next time you are in Estes you will come see all of the changes that have taken place as well as the ongoing projects around the property. We hope to see you again.
