“A great place to stay near Rocky Mountain National Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2009

The Woodlands was great! The staff was very friendly check in was quick. The room was very clean. We loved the fireplace and kitchen. The kingsized bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have a place to do our laundry on the property. The sound of the river outside our room was pleasant. I would reccomend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay within a couple of miles of the Fall River entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park

Owner is VERY nice and recommended a great Italian restaurant with very reasonable prices. The unit was great! Nice bed, towels, etc. Setting is beautiful along the river with each unit having a balcony/porch and gas grill. Reasonably priced-- This was our favorite place to stay thru out our 2 and 1/2 week trip to the western states.

Is also very close to the entrance to RMNP. There's just not a bad thing to say about this place. It was perfect!

This place was just fabulous! It's an apartment of your own in a beautiful setting. There is a large living/kitchen area, a decent size bath area and a large bedroom. We were on the upper floor (with a balcony) and had a great view of the Fall River right outside the chalet windows. We liked the upper floor - the vaulted ceiling and taller chalet windows. Staff was friendly. Rooms were extremely comfortable and immaculate.

The location was between town and RMNP. It was easy to get a few groceries to bring back or to get to RMNP for hiking and wildlife viewing. A grill was located outside the door which was great. We used it a few times.

Wood was delivered each day for the fireplace which was really cozy when the snowflakes fell in the mountains in October. Just such a perfect way to watch nature at its best. Elk roamed the river area since it is so close to RMNP. Movies can be borrowed at any time from the office - there is a good selection too.

This is literally a piece of heaven in nature. We can't wait to return.

My boyfriend and I recently spent 4 days at Woodlands on Fall River and really enjoyed it. Trip Advisor reviews were spot-on, as usual: Woodlands was the perfect place to stay for our trip to the Rockies. The setting was beautiful....so close to RMNP and serene on the river. It was absolutely wonderful awakening to the sound of the river in the morning and sitting on the deck in the evening and listening to the same song of the river. What a great place. Loved our top floor unit....felt like we were right at home. It was nice to be able to do our own cooking in our kitchen, and grill on the grill that was provided. Snuggling by the wood burning fireplace and watching movies after a long day of hiking and exploring was invaluable. I can't say enough great things about this place; and Betsy at the reception desk was so helpful and accomodating. Thanks, Woodlands, for making our first trip to the Rockies so memorable!

I live in Loveland, CO, which is a short drive from Estes and frequently stay in Estes for business and for fun. I've found The Woodlands to be the absolute best you can get. The location is fantastic-right on the river, surrounded by pine trees, very close to the RMNP entrance and only minutes from town. The units are fantastic as well! I prefer the upper units because of the vaulted ceilings and porch, but I have also stayed in a lower unit and found it very pleasant.

The units come with a well outfitted kitchen and a few little treats like a bottle of water, bag of peanuts or chips etc., which is a very nice touch. The rooms have always been very clean, the beds in the 1-bedroom units are huge and extremely comfortable. The furnishings are tasteful, and the bathrooms are clean.

The staff has also been very accommodating. During my last stay, I had to check in 3 hours early due to a personal scheduling conflict and this was no problem at all. They are kind, welcoming and do whatever they can to allow you to have the best stay.
2 big thumbs up from me!

My wife and I stayed at The Woodlands in a one-room suite in June 2009 and were amazed. We walked in and immediately noticed the cleanliness, spacious atmosphere, and amazing bed. It felt like a Westin Heavenly bed, which made us feel at home because of a great night sleep.

We were provided with a grill outside our door. It was convenient to make burgers right by Fall River. One night, elk grazed right across the river from us and we watched them as we sat by the river and enjoyed the weather. The sound of the river put us right to sleep every night, although, the bed was so comfy that we were asleep instantly.

Maid service came daily and the staff always left a bundle of fresh wood on our doorstep. The front desk also had a large assortment of DVDs that are available free of charge to the guests.

As a person who travels a lot, I would highly recommend the Woodlands to anyone visiting Estes Park with a spouse or with your whole family.

There were 6 of us in three units, all on the ground floor. We had a small family reunion, and were from three states. All loved the Woodlands and staff. Great place to stay and not a Bank breaker.
