“Always as before: A fine place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

As always, just a fine place to stay, eat, sleep, visit the park or downtown. Very helpful for guidance in the park as they have years of experience about trails, animals, flowers and hiking. Noteworthy is Fran Grooter's outdoor experience as she has hiked all the park trails, mapped them and sells these maps at the front desk. They're up to date with Estes Park activities and provide very reliable information regarding car repairs. Surprises too. The front desk has an outstanding nature photographer with top notch photos to show any who are interested. Robert the photographer, enjoys suggesting possible locations for wildlife viewing if asked. Also, if available, Jay Grooter is a master stain-glass artist and enjoys showing photos of his fine colorful creations. Everyone is very friendly.

Room Tip: Ask the front desk

There were so many options in Estes Park, I finally just picked one. So glad we got Alpine Trail Ridge Inn. It was perfect for our needs - family with kids 6 and 13. The hotel is just minutes from the Rocky Mountain National Park, and also away from the crowds in downtown Estes. The heated pool was a big hit with the kids. The view of the mountains was a hit with me. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and reasonably priced. There is a restaurant next to the hotel that was convenient and good, and a grocery store and gas station just across the intersection. The staff was helpful and friendly, and came immediately to our room when we had a question about the WI-FI. Definitely will go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room, if available.

The Alpine Trail Ridge Inn is located perfectly - close to the National Park. Due to flooding in the area the season before, we took a more alternative route to the park, but it was still very nice and close.

This is a good example of a typlcal older America family motel. The upkeep is nice, but it does still have some character. Nothing fancy about it, but I thought it was a good value for a night's stay. They have an outdoor pool which appeared very nice, but we did not utilize it. I especially liked the fact that we could open sliding doors iin our room to get some fresh air and look out on the mountains. The grounds themselves are not particularly scenic, but they are clean and maintained. Window air conditioning unit which we only used for a short time to freshen up the room, as it was a pretty cool day. The room was comfortable with nice rocker/recliner (which hubby loved) and another comfortable easy chair. It also had a desk.

All in all, I would stay here again for the same purpose. You won't exactly feel pampered, but you will feel like someone cares about your stay. Very nice front desk ladies :) Photos included...

Room Tip: We had a room facing the back of the property and I thought it was the best spot. It's elevated...

The Alpine Trail Ridge Inn was the best place I have ever stayed in Estes Park. Not only the rooms, but the entire property was clean. They stay on top of everything. The walkway around the pool had cracked and a couple big chunks had came out, this was right before noon. 2 hours later, when we returned to the pool, it had been completely repaired! The staff was very friendly, smiling and asking if there was anything we needed every time we met them. Free Wi-Fi and your own personal router in EVERY ROOM! Even my 7 year old grandson thought this was an excellent place to stay. There is a little bit of traffic noise during the day. But at night, you can't hear a peep for miles around. Great location and great views from our balcony. Thank you everyone from the Alpine Trail Ridge Inn!!!

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room with a balcony.

This was a perfect visit for us. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and very spacious even including a recliner for comfort after a long day at the park. Everything was positive with our stay, I even recommended it to a friend. If we ever venture out this way again, we will for sure stay here again. I like the fact that it is away from the busy areas and just a mile or two from the park entrance. Also thanks to the employees for giving us information about the area.

Room Tip: They chose a balcony room in the back of the complex for us so we would not hear to much of the stre...

This place is clean! And the swimming pool is warm! A fun place to stay. It is close to the National Park and to Estes Park. The staff are helpful to give information about businesses in town, about the park, about the area.

We were very pleased with this motel. Not fancy but it was one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. Things have been updated and it is very comfortable. The wifi was brand new with a router in every room. Amazingly fast! The pool was warm and very clean. I dropped a piece of a shaver down the sink drain. We told one of the maintenance people and they came over immediately and saved it for me. It was close to several really good places to eat. Located on the southwest side of downtown so you didn't have to drive thru if you wanted to go into the national park. We will go back very soon!
