“The best motel in Estes Park, Colorado”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2011

The Apline Trail Ridge Inn is the best place to stay in Estes Park, bar none. We have traveled extensively, and this motel never fails us. It is cleaner than some of the 5-star motels we have stayed in, and the friendly, caring customer service can't be beat. If you want somewhere to stay that is clean and where you will be treated as family, this is the place to stay. The staff is also very knowledgable regarding trails in the park and activities going on in and around Estes Park, which is a plus, too.

Room Tip: The front building with the balconies have a wonderful view of the mountains in the background with...

This hotel is proof that a family run, non-chain hotel can still survive in this country. The hotel is well kept, is in a great location, and has very reasonable rates. You can easily pass it by if you aren't looking for it, which would be a shame, as it is a hidden gem in Estes Park. The restaurant next door is great for dinner or breakfast, and the property is well maintained, routinely updated with new furnishings, mattresses, etc., and is very comfortable and quiet. We had a room on the upper level, with a small balcony looking out on the mountains. hard to beat. We highly recommend this property.

Room Tip: The rooms on the upper level, with balcony, seem like the best of the bunch

We stayed at the Alpine Trail Ridge Inn after a full day of hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Our friends who had been here before knew to ask for a balcony room, but we were plenty happy with a regular one. Since there was a group of us, we appreciated the patio near the swimming pool, where we hung out in the evening and met other travelers. The room was super clean and comfortable with a mini-fridge, and the bathroom was spotless. I would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: We were in the building in the back of the property and our room might have been a little quieter th...

I have been returning to the Alpine Trail Ridge Inn as my base for hiking for many years. It is on the National Park side of Estes Park and so is well-positioned for getting into the Park and onto the trails quickly. It is quiet, clean and comfortable and the staff are always friendly and efficient. The owners upgrade some of the rooms every year so the place keeps getting better. There are two good breakfast places within walking distance. Very nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room. My home from home in Estes Park!

Stay in one of the balcony rooms for a spacious and "at home feel". Plenty of room yet so comfortable. Spotless too.

Make reservations so you are sure to get a room.

Room Tip: Could not have had a cleaner and more pleasant room.

Conveniently located five minutes from the entrance to Rocky Mtn National Park (which I entered 4 times in a two day stay). Close to downtown shops. Clean, safe, pleasant, lovely people that makes it feel like home. Reserve a room with a balcony, even though it is a small balcony, it has a nice view and it feels good to have a breeze coming into the room.

From outside it looked like a ho hum hotel. Once in the room, it was nicely appointed and comfortable. There was attention to detail. We had a balcony room with a view of mountains. Great! This room on the back of property kept us away from the busy road. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
