At first we were not very impressed. The place has no charm, no atmosphere, and the people running the place were rather impersonal.. that being said, the place is pristinely nice. A campground is directly behind the complex, and the cabins are squeezed very tightly together. If privacy is your goal, stay elsewhere, or ensure your cabin is not part of a duplex. The mattress, as always, sagged in the middle. That being said, everything you could possibly want is within the cabins. Dishwasher, sink, disposal, trash cans, napkins, dishes, plates, silverware, cofee, tea, cofee maker, tea kettle, shampoo, moisurizer, fridge, microwave, living room, DVD/VCR with movies to check out (free), vacuum cleaner, fly swatter, immaculately clean, new place. Every detail has been thought of, from hair dryer to shampoo, to dining table.. the place has zero "mountain charm," and feels like an apartment complex, but is pristinely nice. We stayed in a duplex, and heard the neighbors' TV through the wall, but that did not prevent sleeping as much as the horrible mattress. The place seems brand new, amazingly clean. What puts this place above the others we looked at: the location. 1/2 mile from the Beaver Meadow Visitors Center and Rocky Mountain National Park entrance. Also, the place is on HWY 66, away from the noise and traffic on Fall River, or HWY 36. We hardly heard cars. I would caution anyone staying here during tourist season, however, as a campground with RV hookups is literally right behind Rams Horn Village.. and it appears a resort will be built one day across the street from its location. Secluded this place is not, but then again, neither are Woodlands, Boulder Brook, Glacier Lodge, Rockmount, Alpline Trail, or the scores of other places at which we looked. This place is likely the nicest place to stay @ in Estes, but after we saw some other places, such as Windcliff, and others, we'll try somewhere else just to be a bit more remote. This place is cheap during offseason, 2 nights for $229, should easily be $229 per night. Two bedrooms, one king, one queen, living room, two full baths, living room, two TVs, cable TV with HBO, access to movies, hottubs (were locked up, oddly), a clubhouse with computer/internt , wireless internet within the units, gas grills (seems two complexes each share a gas grill), dedicated parking spots, 3 minute drive to the RMNP entrance. Cons: impersonal staff, "blase'" atmosphere (seemed like an apartment complex, even with assigned spaces). Pros: clean (absolutely spotless), huge, all in-room amenities for home-cooking. FYI: timeshares are a ripoff, so we simply stayed here. Hardly any mention was made regarding timeshares. Best restaurant in Estes: Topnotch Cafe, next to True Value Hardware.
