We stayed at this wonderful area this past fall. From the minute you drive into resort you get the feel you are really going to like staying here. The grounds are very kept. The condos are relaxing and the facilities are excellent. We were there during the Elk mating season and the Elk seemed to be everywhere. The temps were ideal and the scenery beyond expectations. I shall return.

As owners at Rams Horn, every visit is better than the last. A better place to relax in comfort can't be found in Estes Park. The staff is the best and the special events are most enjoyable. This resort was designed right and remains a terrific value!

The Rams Horn staff doesn’t refer to the accommodations here as cabins or cottages; they call each individual unit a “home.” That nicely sums up the spirit of this place. This is an excellent family oriented facility that makes a great base for exploring Rocky Mountain National Park.

WHAT WAS GOOD: The homes here are modern, clean and very large. Ours had two large bedrooms, two full baths, a good sized kitchen with a separate dining area, and a small but functional living room with a pullout sofa, all spread out over two floors. There’s more than enough room here for a family to settle in for an extended stay. Appliances and furnishings are all modern and up to date….Homes are built in a rustic style that blends nicely with the surrounding area….The property is located just a mile or two from the Beaver Meadows entrance to the park….There’s a very nice partially shaded pool and Jacuzzi area right next to the clubhouse. If the mountain air has you too tired or relaxed to make the walk to the pool area, there are two additional Jacuzzis spread among the units on site….The staff offers lots of family oriented activities like wine and cheese social hours, waffle breakfasts, etc….There’s a complimentary laundry facility on site….The folks that run the place are very friendly and accommodating. They take the “home” thing seriously and really do their best to provide all the comforts.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER: Not much, really. Other reviewers have mentioned some road noise. We were in the back and that was never an issue, although the property does sit at the busy junction of US36 and CO66. I wished it was set back a little further from the roads, mainly just for aesthetic reasons.

THINGS TO KNOW: Other reviewers have commented on the neighboring campground. I personally don’t find the sight of a few Winnebagos or tents particularly offensive, especially near the entrance to a national park. Note that the homes at the perimeter of the property next to the campground face inward so you’ll probably hardly notice. Noise was never an issue and the occasional light scent of a campfire was kind of pleasant….Towels for the pool and Jacuzzis are provided in the rooms so remember to bring them with you; there are none at the pool….The center of Estes Park is a five minute drive. There are a couple general stores, restaurants and other conveniences even closer to the property….Note that many of the homes are in duplex buildings. Although insulation between the units is good, you may notice the presence of others in the adjacent unit from time to time….There’s no air conditioning in the homes but it’s highly unlikely that you’ll miss it.

BOTTOM LINE: I can’t imagine a better or more comfortable base for visiting RMNP or the Estes Park area, especially if traveling with a group or family. These are really exceptional accommodations.

Rams Horn Village is a wonderful place to stay with family, friends and while visiting Estes Park and the Rocky MT National Park! My husband, 17yr old son and I stayed for 4 nights in late August. Although we found a great internet rate for our stay, we would say Rams Head value is price perfect anytime. Beginning with check in, by very professional, friendly and helpful staff, to the ice cream social, welcome sign on the door, fresh fruit & chocolate basket that greeted us upon our arrival in the condo, to the special amenities the resort offers, we felt this was a great value. There is a lovely pool and spa with free laundry facilities at the club house & 20 feet from our back door, there was a gated hot tube spa with gas and charcoal grills, hammocks and picnic tables nearby to make a day on the hiking trail well worth coming home to.
The bedrooms were very spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. We loved the upstairs master-suite with full bathroom, and deck with 2 rockers.
The first floor bedroom was great too and the full bathroom was across the hall.
This place anticipated so many condo rental needs. They left all the paper products you could need to start your stay off with, down to the PAM spray for ease of cooking.
We were a bit apprehensive about the RV resort next door, but that was never an issue. once inside Rams Horn. We met the nicest people there and felt safe and secure. I recommend when you make your reservations to request an condo that is located on the inside perimeters if you want great privacy too. We had one and it was very nice. Overall, if you want a place that feels like a second home, stay at Rams Horn Village Resort.

We stayed at Ram's Horn for 1 week in August 2009 - my husband and me and our 2-yr old son. Everything about the property was GREAT - pretty layout, very family-friendly grounds, playground, pool, grassy areas outside the houses where kids can play, mountain views, nice decor and very friendly service from the front desk & housekeeping. We had to change houses halfway through and they moved all our stuff for us. They provided free pack-n-play & high chair. The homes appear fairly new and the interiors were nicely decorated w/updated bathrooms, plumbing fixtures, etc. The only downside is the property does not have the best location - is at the corner of highway 66 & 36 which is the entrance to rocky mountain national park, so there was noticeable road noise, moreso on the front corner of the property. also there is a campground/rv park immediately adjacent - ram's horn has put up some nice vegetation as a visual screen, but the acrid smoke smell from the campfires coming in the open windows in the evening was a problem if you have a unit toward the back. Having said that, most properties in EP are right on or close to a highway, so this issue is not unique to ram's horn. however if we go back we will probably pick a property that is along the highway 34 (fall river) entrance to the park as this section of road is very pretty w/lots of shade and tall trees along the river. the highway 36/66 stretch does have better wide views of the mountains though if that's what you prefer. i would give it a 5 if the location were better. EP is very family-friendly even for very small children and so is rmnp.

We just got back from a wonderful family vacation at Estes Park, CO with a main reason for such a wonderful trip being our stay at Rams Horn. My husband and I traveled with two small children (2 and under) and met up with his parents and brother. Rams Horn placed us in side by side condos. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was the immaculate grounds and thoughtful layout of the condos. You really did feel like you were entering into a tiny, cozy village road and lodging wrapped around in a winding fashion, seemingly far away from the bustle of the main road. Children could, and did, play ball outside and in the road without any fear of cars speeding past them or getting too close to the main road. Other places in Estes Park looked to be right against the river (flowing fast enough to be very dangerous if a person fell in) or right up against the main road (which was quite busy because it is the main road to the National Park). Outside most condos were hammocks and grills. The clubhouse had a nice playscape and very clean pool/hot tub. There were many little thoughtful things that Rams Horn included such as a washer/dryer room (holding about 4-5 washer and dryers) near the main clubhouse that was free, and housekeeping service that came once during our stay that replaced towels, bed linens and cleaned showers/tubs, etc. They also had someone come by each condo every morning and you just put your trash outside and they picked it up. They also provided pack and play, high chair, jogging stroller and other things upon request. All of these thoughtful little things add up to make a big difference!
And the condo itself was incredibly clean and really tastefully decorated. I really can't go on enough how much I loved the layout of the condo. There was a nice kitchen with everything you need to cook, including dishes, pots, pans, utensils. There was a room that our son slept in and bathroom on the bottom floor . A cozy living room with a fireplace and soaring ceilings; a small but nice patio was attached to the living room. The second floor had a large bedroom with a nice patio attached. A bathroom was also attached to the upstairs. There actually was a little loft area upstairs where our second son slept in his pack and play.
The location of Rams Horn and scenery is incredible. Rams Horn actually is located very in the foothills of the Rocky Mountain National Park and everywhere you look outside your condos were fantastic mountains and breathtaking scenery. It is also very close (less than a couple of miles) to downtown Estes Park, which is a cute and quaint little town with restaurants and cute little shops.
The people on staff were incredibly friendly and accomodating. They even took my son on a golf cart ride around the grounds! He loved it.
Rams Horn is small and you get a lot of repeat customers. Now I can see why you need to book so far in advance--- they really do make you feel as if you are family.

Rams Horn Village is right next to Rocky Mountain National Park. The location is
perfect for day trips into the park for hiking, photos, and viewing the abundant wildlife there. Rams Horn Resort is a first class resort where everyone gets their own "home
away from home". I stayed in a beautiful unit that looks like a small house! The
beds were excellent and all furnishing topnotch. We were invited to a welcome
party, Sunday breakfast, and treated like family always. The staff are wonderful
and went out of their way to be helpful. The scenery is unbelievable. I can't say
enough positive things about this visit and it was very hard to leave.
