“Our Home and Family in the Mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

We own 5 weeks at Rams Horn Village Resort located at the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. We have been owners for about 18 years. All of the homes have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and are more comfortable than your own home. This time of the year is perfect for Elk viewing. Elk and Deer walk through the grounds every day. The entire staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The homes and grounds are immaculate. The free wine and cheese on Saturday afternoon is a lot more than wine and cheese. And for a small fee don't miss the all you can eat waffles on Sunday morning. We can wait to go back to our family and home in the mountains.

Room Tip: All of the homes are great.

We were chased from our "normal" EP property by the floods. We hung out in Denver for 4 days until they got EP up and going. Rams Horn was recommended by our friends in a EP. Upon meeting Harry Graham, front desk manager, we knew we had "saved" the vacation. So we got moved in and the Federal Government shut down Rocky Mountain National Park. We come to hike, period. I should say that Harry and his entire front desk team were more than willing to help us with hiking suggestions outside the park. Summary: These are very cute custom homes, built cabin style, widescreen TV's, wifi, pool, hot tub, free washers and dryers. Manicured lawns, elk bugling and coyotes howling every night. As rich as they are in property and views, I actually think the best part of Rams Horn is this great staff. We are grateful for your help which totally negated the bad effects of an historic flood and historic DC stupidity shutting down our national parks.

Room Tip: All cabins have a view. No bad ones.

These cabin's (Duplex style) are quite roomy. Roomy kitchen, dining area, outdoor patio and bedrooms. We had grandparents, couple and 2 teens. Enjoyed the hot tub out the back door shared with other units but we were the only ones there!!! Breakfast for $3.00/ea. was a real deal in the club house. Fresh fruit, waffles, juices, coffee, etc. Nice indoor area and also outdoor area for eating. Only downside was the noise from the roadway.

Room Tip: Check site map and get a unit set further back from road.

Ram's Horn Resort:A timeshare resort, but can also be rented out. All the homes are town homes. We own 2 weeks here & come in June & in Sept. In June we see the baby elk & all the wildflowers everywhere. In Sept. we see the elk in their rut, and we see the aspen turn golden. We have a master bedroom upstairs, with a balcony and a bathroom with a skylight. The home is log cabin style. The beds are wooden, large log style. The bedspreads are velour on one side with prints of bears and elk on the other side. There is another bedroom downstairs, a bathroom, and a sleep sofa in the living room. There are TVs in both bedrooms and one in the living room. There is a fireplace in the living room. The eating area is large with a large wooden table and 6 chairs. It is all very warm and welcoming. Deer and elk are often seen on the grounds. Trees and pine trees fill the yards. There are 3 hot tubs, and a pool. There is a playground area, a volleyball net, tether ball, and a clubhouse filled with videos, and games for all ages. There are picnic tables and hammocks , and grills .
All the employees make you feel at home, and are happy and courteous, and will do anything they can to make your visit wonderful. We are a family here. We love returning, and are very sad to leave.
Rocky Mountain National Park is right around the corner from Ram's Horn, and town is only 5 min. away. What would make this place better? Owning it all year long ! We love Ram's Horn Resort in Estes Park, Colorado.

Clean comfortable place with excellent and responsive staff. We got here just after the floods (when road through Black Hawk first opened). the spirit and resilency is amazing. Lots of Elk, Sheep and Moose, even with several meadows closed. Will definately come again!

We have been staying at Rams Horn in Estes Park almost yearly, since 1995. We absolutely love it here. Our family was here in June, along with another family. We enjoyed a fun filled week, hiking, relaxing by the pool, cooking dinners together, shopping downtown, always our final evening of the week is celebrated at the Dunraven Inn. Summer is our usual vacation time, but we have been fortunate to have visited in early spring a few times. The absolute most romantic place "off" season- if there is such a thing as "off" season in this place! It's such a great time to go, rent snowshoes and explore the park without too many people. So cozy in the cabins, with a fire in the fireplace, good books to read, EPTV channel 8 with great things the town and park have to offer beautiful views out all the windows, snow covered mountain peaks, pine trees, wonderful, comfortable furniture, full kitchens, complete with comforting recipes, lots and lots of wildlife everywhere... what more can I say, other than it's our favorite place in the world!

The only thing I am missing this Autumn is the bugeling of the elk as I fall asleep at Rams Horn Resort, the wonderful colors of the Aspens and Jared's tour from Yellow Wood guiding. I was scheduled to go the week of the flood and had to cancel my trip to my sadness. Rams Horn Village Resort is really HOME for me when I travel to CO. There are lots of nice places in Estes, but the warm people at Rams Horn make a huge difference. Autumn will not be the same for me this year. If I lived in CO, Nebraska, WY instead of Michigan I would make a special unplanned trip. Sigh...

Room Tip: Just about any room has a view of some type of the mountains. And the call of the elk can be heard...
