“The view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

This property has more of a state park inn feel rather than a resort. It's a bit dated, but the view of the mountains and lake are terrific. The room was small, and we had to do some rearranging to fit the rollaway in it. I don't think I'd want to stay if I couldn't have a mountain view room, but we did, and I enjoyed watching the mountains change in the light from our (shared) balcony. My daughter loved the playground, my boys enjoyed the pool, and we also had a blast taking one of the bike carts from the nearby marina around the lake. It was convenient to RMNP without being in the downtown Estes Park congestion. We did not eat any meals at the restaurant, but instead tried Smokin Dave's, The Other Side, and the Donut Haus. All good.

Our purpose was a family member graduation and was well attended by six families and we all stayed at the Estes Park Resort, on the Lake. Wonderful Location, View(s), Restaurant, plus Happy Hour and Music by a 'local live musicians and excellant vocalest, the Dennis-Tobias trio. Our Thanks to manager Chris Carey and his attentive desk and staff. thanks for assisting in making the after grad reception a special treat for our graduate Grand Daughter. Everything was special for ALL of us, family, friends and classmates alike.

Room Tip: Each family had separate rooms in different locations and ALL the rooms had wonderful views of Lake...

We generally go to Estes Park at least once a year. We recently stayed at Estes Park Resort on two different occasions. I reserved a King Lakeview Accessible Room for both stays. I sent an email to the Resort the Thursday before we arrived on that Saturday to let them know that we would be arriving later in the evening sometime around 6:00 PM. When we arrived for that first stay we checked into our room only to find that we had been given a King Mountain-view Accessible Room. We went back to the front desk only to find that there were no more ing Lake-view Accessible Room available. Katie did upgrade us to a Queen Lake-view Accessible Suite. I was impressed with how quickly she corrected the mistake!

When we arrived for our second stay a week later we were given the appropriate King Lakeview Accessible Room and it was wonderful! I had ordered the "romance" package and when we checked in there was a bottle of champagne as well as some chocolate covered strawberries waiting for my husband. They did a wonderful job helping me surprise him and the champagne and strawberries were very tasty!

It is worth noting that they had a live band on both Friday and Saturday night. The band played from 7:00-10:00 PM both nights and our room was right next to the lounge/bar area and it was quite loud until they were finished. However they did stop at 10:00 with no problem and both were quite good!

We will be staying in Estes Park again this winter and I've arty booked our rooms at Estes Park Resort. It is true that there are various price points for the different rooms so be sure you ask for what you want and you must be willing to pay more for the Lake-view versus the Mountain-view. For our winter stay we have opted for a room with no view at a lower price point since we will probably be spending more time out and about or relaxing in the beautiful lounge and bar area!

I was very impressed with everyone who works at Estes Park Resort. They were all very gracious and helpful with everything we needed. I felt they went above and beyond to make our stay a wonderful vacation. We're both looking forward to our stay with them this December.

Thank you Katie and everybody else that took care of us! We love visiting Estes Park and we loved having a place to go that made us feel so much at home!

Room Tip: Splurge for the Lake-view room at some point! It's wonderful and you won't be disappointed!

The Estes park resort is one of the most clean, fun, kind, and professional hotels I have ever stayed in before. Service is great and staff is very friendly and won't stop at anything to please a customer. The resort is a 5 star hotel and dining experience in my book. They will always be the first hotel I will even think about staying at in Estes park.

This hotel was very nice and had wonderful views. Everything seemed very clean and well maintained. From the check in to check out the staff were all friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at restaurant due to prices but would like to try it next time.

My family recently made a trip to Estes for an extended weekend. We tried the Estes Park Resort because some friends of ours raved about how family friendly it was. We were looking for a place that had enough activities at the hotel for the kids so my wife and could actually enjoy ourselves. The kids absolutely loved the indoor pool and video game room while my wife and I sat at the patio right outside the pool which overlooks the lake. We enjoyed our cocktails and read our books while the kids had a blast inside! The next morning I took the kids to the marina next door to the resort and rented a paddle boat with the kids while my wife enjoyed a half day spa treatment at the hotel which she absolutely loved. In the evening we enjoyed the excellent food at the restaurant and sat by the windows overlooking the lake. Wonderful views and the staff were great! Our kids were getting a bit restless by desert time and we weren’t ready to leave so our waiter kindly showed us the second floor of the restaurant where they had all sorts of board games and books for the kids. The kids played monopoly in front of the fire place and we were able to enjoy our desert and coffee in peace!!! We had a wonderful experience at the resort and would recommend it to anyone!

We stayed here over Father's Day Weekend thinking this was a resort and spa -- unfortunately it was not as it bills itself. The location on the lake is wonderful and the proximity to town is perfect. But the hotel itself was disappointing. The carpeted floors in the hallway and in our suite looked like they hadn't been vaccumed in weeks. Make sure to bring your own tissues - the kleenex are just one ply! You had to use 3 to blow your nose! The food in the restaurant was overpriced and just so-so. The sauna was out in the open and the pool was tiny. The The front desk staff was amazing and the Maitre'de was super nice, but it doesn't make up for feeling ripped off and like we were missing something.

Room Tip: Definately spend the money and get a one bedroom suite. No communal balcony.
