“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

I travel quite a bit and I have to say that this is one of the nicer places I have stayed at. The staff is exceptional. Although it might be higher priced than others in the area, it is well worth it. The views are incredible. When I return to Estes Park I will certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: The mountain view rooms are excellent.

This hotel has a great location. Lake Estes is just yards away from the front balcony. There is also a city owned recreation building across the parking lot that rents out bikes, and various water craft. Also, the Lake Estes Trail is adjacent, offering wonderful walks along the lake and through the park and into the downtown area if desired. And the views are majestic!

We paid the extra price for a mountain/lake view and it was worth every penny. Our room, located on the 3rd floor was very well appointed, definitely the nicest room we have ever had while staying in Estes...and we have been there many times. As far as value goes, I feel the location and quality of the beds and rooms in general, plus the location of this hotel, makes it worth the cost.

My daughter chose here for her wedding. Middle of the week in the middle of June, we just about had the place to ourselves. Beautiful lodge with beautiful views any way you look. Jamie did a fine job planning out an outdoor ceremony and reception which was inside. Jamie did a super job keeping things moving. Special needs and requests were addressed effortlessly and pleasantly. I have to save the kitchen staff for last, the food was completely awesome. We had a buffet for the reception. I normally do not expect much from a buffet, but we got a very excellent burgundy beef, and a crispy chicken in a lemon and caper sauce that was truly one of the best things I have ever tried. Highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms were clean but price seemed way to high for the amenities. We also had to have our door lock fixed and the air conditioner didn't work. The pool is small and the hot tub was a weird yellow so I didn't venture in there.

Hello,
Thank you for being our guest!

We value your feedback, and I would like to apologize that we did not meet your expectations.

As a destination property - Lodging operations generally base their rates on what other hotels in town charge, and then set their rates accordingly to what they have to offer as far as products and services. As the most recently renovated hotel in town, with the nicest rooms - our rates do tend to be a bit higher than most others in town, but you should feel you did receive a fair value as well. In this instance we appear to have failed on our objective - and again for that, I am sorry. I will share your feedback with our leadership team so we may improve ourselves, and work even harder to make sure every guest is satisfied every time they stay with us. As a smaller property - we have the unique ability to develop a relationship with our guests. We want to do a better job of that. Thank you for brining this to our attention, and we will improve.

Had a graduation party for my daughter's high school graduation up stairs in the Mezzanine room. Everything was perfect. Very clean, good staff and food and drink excellent. Would highly recommend. Thanks.

I have been staying at the Estes Park Resort for many years now when I travel to Estes Park to announce the award winning Rooftop PRCA Rodeo in July. The Lakeside Rooms are great with incredible views of Rocky Mt National Park and service has been good as well.

Room Tip: Get a lakeside room with a balcony.

I booked my stay in March. I requested mountain views. When we got to the room it overlooked the parking lot with small rock hills. This was obviously not what I pictured. We went to the desk and they told us that is mountain views. I told them I requested to have a view of Rocky Mountain National Park (Long's Peak). They said that is "premium mountain views" and that is not what we requested. We opted for the premium views. The room is lackluster. Not any different from a mid-level hotel. The balcony was not private. It spans the length of the hotel with no division. We then went to do some site seeing, we checked our bank account and they had charged us one night too much. When we returned, the toilet was spraying water. We went to the desk, requested our money back and went to the Stanley Hotel. I asked one local about the hotel and he said "you mean the Mistake on the Lake" that sums it up.

Hello Mary,
I am very sorry you were not pleased with your stay with us! We do indeed have three different types of rooms, Gardenview, Mountainview, and Lakeview - all at different price points so everyone can join us at a rate that fits their vacation budget -- I apologize if the description was not more clear when making your reservation - We will review how everything is listed, and make revisions to try and eliminate this type of confusion and dissappointment from happening again in the future.
You also mention a problem with your bank statement - if this has not been resolved to your satisfaction, please contact us directly to fix any problems that may have accidentally happened. This is something that is extremely unusual, and I apologize for the inconvenience, but want to make sure it has been resolved.
Thank you for considering our resort for your stay in Estes Park - We will use your feedback to improve.
