“very nice motel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

this is an older motel in the heart of Estes park, everyting has been very recently updated, beds are new too. hotel staff was very nice and polite, housse cleaning staff did a great job cleaning the rooms as we stayed 2 days.
Swimming pool was just a tad cool but it was really cool the days we wer there too, hot tub was perfect on the cool days/nights.
Only draw back i had was that we were on motorcycles and the parking area is on a pretty good slope but, just about all of these motels in Estes are on a mountain side and they all have to make parking with the area they have.

The rooms are very clean. The beds are comfy. Nice view with seating area outside of room. Not too far from the downtown area. The pool and hot tub are great. A great place to stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Came here with my teenage son for a quick get away from the Texas heat; much of the city was booked. We drove around and found this place (we stayed at the Rocky Mountain Hotel the evening before - was fine...but did not compete with these views, value and atmosphere ). The management is really working hard on making the outside beautiful (taking up concrete, adding hummingbird friendly plants, painting, new deck chairs overlooking great views - new owners I believe). Anyway, being on a budget, I was torn between two motels. I LOVED MY SELECTION!!! The staff was sooo friendly; everyone says hi or may I help? - loved the homey feel! The light breakfast, free laundry soap, views, quiet atmosphere, price...cannot beat this place. I would 100% come here again! We paid about $110 for 1 night - they may bargain if you ask...again, they are all sooo nice. Email if you have any questions...

Room Tip: If you want an amazing value, stay here. If you need to be by the city center, it's about 1/3 mi...

Dear Guest,
We appreciate all guest input. Each of our hotel rooms have 25 channels. We have gone through each room to make sure they are working correctly. We hope to get additional channels soon!
Unfortunately, we do not have HBO. Our hotel switched ownership, management and staff approximately 3 months ago. We had to get rid of HBO so that we could upgrade previous cable services for our guests. We apologize if you reservation was made prior to the management, ownership and cable switch.
In addition, our pool and hot tub temperatures are checked every night and they were set to a comfortable temperature that evening. We try to work with all guests who have issues, whatever their need be. However, it is difficult to work with guests who have threatened litigation and who can be difficult. Despite these issues, we appreciate your input.

My family has been in the Estes Park valley off and on (mostly on) since the 1930s, so we rarely need a hotel room. My father's recent death resulted in the family homes being all filled up, so we were in search of a comfortable, economical hotel. I looked at the rooms of 5 or 6 nearby places before choosing the Hotel Estes. Some were less expensive but much less comfortable. We found this place to be roughly equivalent to a Comfort Inn, but the price difference was substantial: about $125 vs $173 for the Comfort Inn just a few doors down. The rooms are all nicely furnished with new and comfortable beds and small refrigerators and microwaves. It was not particularly luxurious but met our needs perfectly. Every single employee we encountered, from the front desk staff to the maintenance men to the housekeepers were friendly, warm, and welcoming, and all working hard to upgrade the property. I have never written a review before but wanted to help the new owners get a good start, since their employees were all so very kind to us during a difficult time of family loss.

We would choose this place again, and will be recommending it to family and friends visiting the area.

One of the few places in town with vacancies during the height of the tourist season. That should tell you all you need to know. Pass on the free breakfast.

Dear Valued Guest,
We thank you for your input. We switched management, ownership and staff approximately 3 months ago. Hopefully you have seen the improvements that we have made so far, and that we are continually making more. In just 3 short months, we have replaced 100 beds, comforters, door trimmings, siding, railings, bathroom fixtures, added landscaping, cleaned up the property and much more. The improvements will continue to show each day. We value your comment and if you ever need a place to stay here in Estes Park again, we hope that we are your first choice.

This hotel recently switched owners. My family stayed at this hotel a few years back and we were not very impressed. We started staying at another hotel in town on our yearly summer vacation. We found out that the owners of that hotel bought Hotel Estes and have put a lot of work into it in just a few of months of ownership. So, we decided to give it another try. Our experience was great! Not only have they replaced the outdated railings, door trimmings, mattresses and comforters, but the new staff went out of their way to help us and were great! They also have a small breakfast and have a man come once a week to play guitar and sing. The owners have transformed the entire climate of the hotel. I don't usually write reviews of hotels, but I was so impressed by the changes that have been made. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!
