“Nice Place to Stay in Estes Park!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

We really enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. The rooms were very clean and the grounds were well-kept.

Two areas I found to be worth noting:

**The breakfast was top-notch. Very clean area and a generous amount of food. I find this to be very important (the breakfast) at any hotel stay...and the staff here take pride in what they do.

**The hot tub area was very well 'controlled'-- and when I say controlled, they only give out the hot tub to people who reserve it. You can do so in 15 minute increments. I thought this was a little micro-manage'y at first, but then I realized that every hotel should have this kind of rule. Who wants to share a hot tub with a few other randoms and be forced to small talk with them while you're trying to relax? I wish this idea would catch on at more places.

We will be back!

Everything about the room was clean and plush, and we were very comfortable during our two night stay. I was very impressed with the friendly service: I called the hotel in a slight panic at 10:30pm as we were only just getting out of Denver after serious delays with our flight that day. The staff member who answered was incredibly courteous and arranged for us to pick up our room key when we (finally) arrived an hour later and advised us on parking, etc . (The next morning, I noted that office hours were only until 10pm, so I was even more grateful!) Every dealing we had with staff at the desk was equally pleasant, and they were helpful with providing maps, etc, and relevant info on the roadworks going on around Bear Lake in the national park.

We enjoyed the hotel breakfast: while it is not fine dining as such, there is plenty to eat, both cooked and cold. There were waffles and scrambled eggs available both mornings, which made me happy, as well as granola, bagels, etc.

We would be very pleased to stay again, and enjoyed Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park so much that we hope to return.

We had a excellent 4 night stay. Staff is friendly and the breakfast was good. They had a good selection of hot breakfast items. The place was well maintained and clean.

We loved the hotel. Asked for and got a beautiful view room, with elk roaming around in the backyard from time to time. Everything was very clean and fresh, even the TV remote control was a special one with no crevices that was disinfected and put in a special holder. The bathroom was spotless and very modern.
Our big problem was that we were required to pay in advance for the entire week of our stay. Unfortunately the very nearby High Park Fire started on our second morning there. Two days later there was smoke in Estes Park and an air quality alert for the entire county. My husband has a stent and heart condition so we needed to leave. The manager refused to refund our money unless he could "resell" the room. He was able to resell one night, so we got back one night minus a $30 fee. We are still completely out the last two nights, and at $177 per night, this is not a cheap place at all. The logic of being able to resell the room doesn't make a lot of sense since the hotel was not full every night when we there anyway.
Again, if you stay there, take out insurance!!! There is no flexibility. We have traveled all over the world and have never encountered any situation so inflexible.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a view room. We asked for and had a lovely top floor corner room with a deck. T...

DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU HAVE TO CANCEL DUE TO AN EMERGENCY! Recently, I planned to attend a conference in Estes Park and stay at the Best Western. However, due to the fires in Colorado Springs, I did not want to risk the lives of myself and family by traveling through Colorado Springs. I tried to cancel my reservation the day before and the general manager would not allow me to cancel. To make matters worse, this hotel charges you up front on your credit card and there is no way to get your money back. With the terrible fire burning in Colorado Springs and evacuations going on, it is terrible that the general manager would not take into consideration the circumstances that required me to cancel. I will never stay at a Best Western Motel ever again. I understand their cancellation policy, however, this is an extraordinary circumstance-the largest fire in Colorado state history. Come on, he could have given me a break! DON'T STAY HERE IF AN EMERGENCY EVER HAPPENS AS YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED-APPARENTLY FOR ANY REASON WHAT SO EVER!!!

We've stayed at the Best Western Silver Saddle over the past years and they are focused on their guests. The location is great! The property is very clean and well maintained. The management and staff are professional and breakfast is good and more varied than most. (The lemon bread and carrot bread are REALLY good!)
