“Comfortable Room, Delicious Breakfast, Great Location, Wonderful People”

My wife and I stayed for Valentine's weekend, and we were thrilled with our choice. We could have sat and talked with the Sonnenhoffs all day. We loved sitting with them over our breakfast feast. The room had a fireplace and was a great place to rest after traveling and hiking. If you are headed to Rocky Mountain National Park, Sonnenhoffs is just a 10 minute drive, We recommend the Sonnenhof B&B to anyone seeking a relaxing B & B. We will be back!

Room Tip: The Rose Room has large windows for viewing the sunrise.

WOW....something right out of a story book...Rudy and Hilde..I mean come on! 2 fabulous hosts with wonderful life stories. We were fortunate enough to have time to listen to some of their life experiences as well as staying in very cozy and comfortable accomodations!! And the food...my my my..it was sooo good! we are "Boomers" and as such we really enjoyed the peace and quiet. (Not to mention all the humming birds at the feeders) Would we go back? in a heart beat! Did I mention the plate of homemade cookies?

We just recently returned from a second visit to the Sonnenhof. We were there 2 years ago and wanted to come back ever since. Staying at the Sonnenhof is indescribable. There is such warmth and care not only in every detail of the home, but Rudy and Hilde make you feel like family. Every favorable review is all true! Their home is beautiful and a perfect location for your visits to RMNP and Estes Park. The best part is Rudy and Hilde. They are genuinely kind and caring. Hilde provided us with coats and gloves when the weather was much colder then we had planned. I could go on and on. I am so grateful for our time at the Sonnenhof and truly do hope we can return very soon.

Room Tip: We had the Romantic Rose and love the view. They all look very special!

Staying with Rudy and Hilde was a wonderful experience. They are very down to earth and friendly people. We stayed in the Rose Room and loved the magnificent view of the valley below. After enjoying Rudy's sumptuous breakfasts, trekking into RMNP in the crisp fall air was a joy. The Sonnenhof is located outside of busy and touristy Estes Park, away from noise and traffic. Each piece of furniture and cabinet is a work of art. Rudy uses the best oak and aspen for his creations which included back yard furniture, railings, and birdhouses. I don't think we got to see everything. There is probably not another B&B anywhere that amazing. Our room was extremely comfortable with bed linens to die for. We live only 40 minutes from Estes Park. What a surprise to find such an unexpected gem so close to home.

Room Tip: All are beautiful

We completed our 2 week visit to the mid-west at Sonnenhof with Rudy and Hilde. All other places on our trip would have been a let down if we had started at this B&B. Our Austrian hosts were delightful and their home is a reflection of their labor of love. Rudy is an expert wood worker as reflected in their home furnishings and outside areas. Hilde decorates a warm, inviting home with multiple suites and a 2 bedroom apartment. Views and breakfasts are unmatched. Wish we could have stayed longer.

My husband and I started off our honeymoon at Sonnenhof, and what a terrific start it was! Rudy and Hilde were so sweet and made us feel right at home. There was a different, delicious homemade breakfast to look forward to each morning, and we enjoyed talking with Rudy and Hilde to find out more about the them, the bed and breakfast, and the Estes Park area. What made the already-lovely bed and breakfast even more beautiful was the fact that all of the furniture was hand-carved by Rudy. It was really amazing!

The location of Sonnenhof is terrific. It's close to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park and about a 5-minute drive (if that) to the quaint main street in Estes Park.

At Sonnenhof, we stayed in the Romantic Rose Suite and loved it. It was immaculately clean, had a great jacuzzi tub, as well as a deck off the room that provided a breath-taking view of the Rocky Mountains. Right before we left on our honeymoon, we had extended our stay at Sonnenhof, and we're so glad we did. We would have extended it even more once we were there if we could have! Of the three different places in Colorado where stayed during our honeymoon, Sonnenhof was by far the best.
