“Be prepared to chlep your own bags”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

The location was very good but there are too many negatives for this to be a place I would recommend. The "spa" is the size of a bathtub. There is limited parking and lots of construction. Most of all, though, I really could not believe there was no elevator. We had to carry our bags up the stairs and my son just had his foot amputated so he had a difficult time with the stairs. Our room was okay but the view was over a dirt construction site! Wow, it was really disappointing for how much we spent, lesson learned for the next time we come back.

We stayed two nights in the building farthest from the road..so quiet! A private outdoor hot tub in the garden just for that building was a wonderful touch--we never bothered going in to the pool, spa or exercise room as they were rather crowded every time we went by. The breakfast I thought was really nice in some ways and mediocre in others--the first morning the fruit varieties were nil but Tue hot breakfast was good, and the second morning my biscuit was RAW as heck but the fresh fruit was delicious!! I think going earlier rather than later is a key factor. The parking lot is a mess to figure out but that's probably due to the construction. It looks like it will be very appealing once that is finished in the fall, and I hope one day they will be able to add elevators as well! All employees we encountered were very nice and professional. Overall a very nice stay!

Very expensive rooms for the quality of the rooms, very very low quality breakfast, bring ear plugs so you can't hear the neighbors every move! Walls must be made out of paper, I suggest getting a place in Eureka. We will never stay at this place again!

We were looking to stay close to the ocean in Brookings Oregon, but Hotels.com said there was nothing available. We drove ahead 20 miles into Crescent City, California as this was the recommended next available Best Western on our route. What a poor recommendation from Hotels.com. The BW Plus Northwoods Inn in Crescent City is way over priced, poor customer service as well as terrible room accommodations. The rooms small size, uncomfortable mattresses, small bathroom and sink, as well as the bedding were awful. The price of $158 for 1 night is ridiculous. This is a motel, being remodeled, not a Hotel as listed. There are exterior doors to enter the rooms, not inside corridors, and the free breakfast at the adjacent restaurant was poor. We wouldn't recommend this place or ever stay here again. Awful experience.

Room Tip: No good tips for this place.

Not a good experience - very expensive for the quality of the room, and also exceptionally noisy. Additionally, the restaurant was mediocre at best.

First we were given the room right by the stairwell, and our mirrors shook any time someone came up or down the stairs. All. Night. Long.

Further, our wing of the hotel was under construction - they are adding a third floor. We were told that this would not begin until 10AM, but starting at 8:30, the [loud diesel] cranes came rolling in, and by 9:30 we had people banging around on the roof. Wasn't real happy as it was, but at least we hadn't planned on sleeping in, and were only staying one night. I can imagine that this would be a deal breaker for a multi-day stay.

Luckily I always travel with earplugs - handy for a bum hotel such as this and/or annoying kids on airplanes. I'd recommend that you bring your own if you plan to stay here, or perhaps just book a different hotel.

Have paid far less for much nicer hotels than this, and although there aren't tons of hotels in Crescent City there are several other options and a few neighboring towns close by.

Room Tip: If you stay here (not recommended in my book), make sure to get a first floor room that is not next...

This Best Western Plus was right on the Highway across from the bay, (walking distance to the water). They are adding a third story and an additional parking lot (2014). We had booked two rooms because the family suites were booked, upon arrival they did have a family situe available. Greatfull the staff offered us the option to change without extra charges. The room was large, in addition to the typical two Queen beds and bathroom area this room came with a small refrigerator, microwave, kitchen sink, prep area, and additional closet space. The room was just what my traveling family needed. We did experience a few small issues that the staff fixed quickly.
