“I had to stay in Oregon, but.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

I'had to stay in Brookings Oregon, but the call center adviced me to stay in Crescent and save. I acepted and this hotel is more cheap than in Brooking and I stayed so well. I ate very well in the hotel restaurant, the breakfast so good. The room was very clean, confortable and large. My holiday in this hotel was perfect.

We had no plans when arriving in town and found the Best Western in Crescent City. We were thinking of staying in Eureka, but decided to push on, and we glad we did. Since it was after Labour Day we figure we wouldn't have any problem finding a room. It's a good thing we arrived in the late afternoon. By evening the parking lot was full, so plan to arrive early or book ahead.

The rooms were clean and well maintained. There is also a pool, hot tub and gym. As it was a damp day, I took advantage of the hot tub and was the only person using it. It felt like my own oasis. The bathroom were clean. The showers had lots of hot water and good pressure. There are mini frigs and TVs in the room. Oh, and breakfast is served in the adjoining restaurant. It was nice to have a hot breakfast before getting started in the morning.

Just up the road from the Best Western is the turn to Howland Hill Road where you can drive on a gravel road through the old growth redwoods. It was spectacular. Along the way there are trails where you can stop and hike into the woods. The trees are ancient, majestic and beautiful. While hiking we noticed that the silence, and it was welcoming and gentle. It's like all the trees were gently sleeping.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back of the building which are away from the road.

We stayed here for a night while heading elsewhere. The rooms were large, comfortable and well equipped, with nice beds. The restaurant was just fabulous. We had a delicious dinner and a great buffet breakfast the next morning. We couldn't have been happier with this stop for the night.

After driving from Washington, this hotel was a nice sight to see, besides the redwoods! The front desk was very friendly and informative. My room was a welcome sight with two large beds, flat screen TV with many channels and a great shower. I was next to the stairs and even though the hotel was full, I didn't notice too much noise. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

One night stopover while travelling. Older style hotel, but appears to be clean, with ongoing upgrading. Rooms were fairly large, and beds quite comfortable. Helpful and friendly front desk staff. Breakfast buffet was by far the best of other equivalently priced hotels that we have recently stayed at, served in the adjoining restaurant. We would probably stay here again.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are much quieter.

We stayed one night 2 weeks ago on our way to California. The room was nice and spacious, the two queen beds were very comfortable with lots of fluffy pillow. We had coffee, tea, coffee maker, and microwave oven in the room. The front desk staff was very helpful in giving us detailed information about the red wood national parks. He gave us a big map and told us spots worth visiting. Location was nice, on the main road across from the beach. My only complain was that the carpet was dirty...and breakfast was very disappointing. Otherwise we would have stayed here again the week after when we stopped in Crescent City on our way back to the North. We chose the Lighthouse Inn instead (see my review).
