“Great place with a great view of the ocean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2008

My husband and I stayed for 7 days, we had a great ocean view room, the price seem to be the best in town. housekeeping was nice and did a great job. Carrie at the front desk was nice and helpful with finding things around town. AAAAAA++++ To everyone at Front Street Inn. Jones Family

We should have guessed when we were told upon making our reservation a month in advance to call and "confirm" several days before. . .we did so, and "confirmation" appeared to be useless. When we arrived, no reservation, and the room with the full kitchen was taken. We were told the person we had talked to only days before no longer worked there.

Fine, no problem, mistakes happen, we looked at a few other available rooms. One was incredibly musty smelling. The other was okay, so we said yes.

We're not squeamish, and the price seemed right, so we booked it. The moldy grout in the bathroom, the picture holes in the walls, the huge stains on the carpet, the smell in the fridge, the "view" of a tree, the location right on the corner of not one but TWO highways - none of this would have driven us away, even with the reservation snafu. Even the three extremely drunk people stumbling down the stairs to their car and the overflowing ashtrays on the balcony would not necessarily have made us leave, but the last straw? The flimsy door would not lock - no matter how hard we worked the deadbolt.

Do yourself a favor. Stay away from this place.

This little motel had the best cable TV of any of the hotels on our 3-week road trip. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and there was very little noise. The free wireless Internet was an added bonus. The best $55 motel I have ever stayed in.
