“Big rooms and comfy bed for a good price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

We stopped while on our motorcycle trip and enjoyed our one night stay there. The rooms were huge, spacious. The service was very nice. The breakfast was simple and carby, but that's expected. They at least had peanut butter for the english muffins. The guest laundry was cheap; only a dollar for wash and another for dry. There was a nice walk to the lighthouse from the hotel. Clean. Yup very clean. Wife liked it and I loved the value.

Room Tip: A room in the back would probably have the best view.

Ocean view was like home away from home, we traveled from South East Georgia to meet friends from Washington, Christine helped us surprise our friends when we arrived. She was the best to work with. the rooms were large and had a love seat that made visiting easy. Thanks Christine for all that you did.

This was a very pleasant over all experience! Very roomy rooms, very clean, and friendly staff. Would stay again. It is not ocean front, but ocean view. Also, the there is a very tasty Mexican restaurant across the street, which very convenient.

I was excited to stay at the Ocean View Inn after reading reviews. It was very clean and the staff was very nice as others have shared. However, the view was not great. You could see the ocean, but you had to look over utility lines and metal buildings, which ruined it for me. Maybe I was expecting too much. We were on the third floor in one of the best view rooms. For those who do not know, Crescent City has a fog horn that goes off every 10 seconds. It did not really bother me, but my husband could not tune it out. We left a day early due to the fog horn and the bed. It was too hard for our taste. We decided to stay up the road in Brookings, Oregon and we were glad that we did.

Stayed here last minute, wanted to stay in Trinidad but all hotels were full. The hotel is clean, good value and staff helpful. Not a great deal to go here but for stop over it's ok. Rooms are huge and good views over the water. Breakfast was included with a good selection if breads cakes FRUIT cereals. Not a bad coffee either.

We based our decision on Tripadvsor reviews and we were not disappointed. The front desk staff were laid back and friendly. I appreciated that it wasn't a chain hotel, and the staff was eager to talk and share their local knowledge. We luckily missed the busload of passengers vying for breakfast (they were out early luckily). The breakfast had lots of options, the room was spacious and clean. We had a king suite that included a fireplace. They even had menus from nearby restaurants to peruse. The decor in the lobby was kitschy - with ocean themed decor - but it only added to the charm of the establishment. Plenty of free self-parking and a great location right on 101. I would definitely go back. Ask for a jacuzzi suite!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the king suite with ocean view - ask for a jacuzzi suite if you like that kind of thing.

Ocean View Inn is one of many motels on Hwy 101, but it is newer than most. Our room was clean and adequately furnished but not outstanding.

Wind blowing through or against the in-wall heating unit created a never ending, high-pitched tune of random sounds. At first, we thought perhaps a guest in another room was sitting up all night playing an ocarina (badly).
