“Excellent hotel to stay in while on business or night before flight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2009

First about me - On average I travel weekly both domestically (US) and internationally for business (mainly Europe but also on occasion Asia, South America and South Africa). When travelling on business I look for a hotel in a safe area (i) which is clean (ii) has updated modern rooms (iii) has wireless internet (preferably free); (iv) has breakfast (if hotel does not have a restaurant), and (v) a small gym. In Europe to hit all of the above criteria is difficult - especially to find a hotel which is updated and modern. The Hampton Inn Albuquerque Airport exceeds my expectations.

Rooms are updated, modern and fresh - typical Hampton Inn style - with plenty of lighting to work or read. Rooms have microwave, fridge and coffee maker and access to free internet. Rooms are also very clean - and as a woman I am extremely picky!

Yes rooms are "external" as noted by another review - but I didn't feel this was a draw back and I did not feel unsafe.

Staff are wonderful - helpful, friendly and cheerful.

Breakfast again typical Hampton Inn - cereals, eggs, muffins, bagels, etc - all nicely laid out and fresh.

My only complaint - and this is minor - is that the gym equipment is a bit all. However it is adequate for a decent cardio workout (treadmill, recumbent bike, and cross trainer).

No question - when travelling through Albuquerque, I will stay again.

This hotel is located literally minutes away from the ABQ. They offer a convenient shuttle to the airport that runs every 15 minutes from the prroperty. We got in late at night and they actually had us get a taxi to the property and gave us a voucher to the taxi driver so we did not have to pay.

Like all hampton inns, it has free wireless internet, free breakfast and small business center in the lobby. Breakfast was standard fare with eggs, biscuits, gravy, cereals, fruits, and breads/pastries. The rooms were comfortable, bathroom adequate. It's everything you'd expect in a hotel near the airport.

We usually stay here the night before we fly out of Albuquerque. It's always pleasant, clean and convenient. It's a nice small hotel for a one night stay. I would only stay here to be near the airport however. You do hear the planes overhead!

  • Liked — convenience, suits our needs
  • Disliked — Recommend only for a short stay

This is definitely an older Hampton Inn -- I did NOT like the elevator being outside. The design is the 50's style exterior passageway and the room was noisy. The staff was very nice, but I would not book into this hotel again, and that's hard for me to say!

  • Liked — Location is convenient to the airport
  • Disliked — Exterior elevator and exterior room entrances left me feeling less than safe.

This property is just a stones throw from the airport. we rented a car at the airport and only had to drive a few blocks to this Hampton Inn. Upon check-in, both my wife and I were greeted by friendly staff. A quick view of the lobby/ breakfast bar told me this place was atleast clean. after we were given our room keys ( we got a room with a in-room jacuzzi) we knew we would be very comfortable here. Nice decor, spacious room with a separate couch, coffee table and a computer desk. the room was impecable. And the bed with it's fluffy comforter was something I sure have like to have taken home, however, I really don't think management would have appreciated that. The property was very quiet, room very clean, a 24/7 coffee bar (and also a in-room coffee maker) They serve hot quick breakfast in the mornings which was OK. Internet service worked as advertised and there are a few resturaunts within mins of the place.
Best thing (other than the comfy bed and cleanliness) was rental car return was right down the road to the airport. I would recommend this facility to even my closest friend or family.

  • Liked — Rooms were very clean and very comfortable bed
  • Disliked — I had to leave it

Wasn't the best or the worst Hampton Inn I've stayed in. However, after a week on Route 66 sleeping in motels in the middle of nowhere and eating Route food the entire time, the Hampton Inn (any Hampton Inn) was luxury at its finest. Sort of strange for a corporate hotel chain to have outdoor facing rooms in this day and age, but nothing negative to say about the place. The rooms were clean, the staff were very pleasant and nice; and even the cleaning staff took the time to say hello and chat. The breakfast was pretty much standard Hampton Inn. Was only a short drive to the university and Route 66. A private outdoor pool would have been nicer than the small indoor one though.

  • Liked — Comfortable rooms, clean, nice staff
  • Disliked — Outdoor facing rooms.
