“Good value and probably the closest nicest hotel to Old Town Plaza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

Econolodge staff are wonderful and very helpful.
The rooms are well presented and appear to be freshly painted in white with yellow feature walls.
The Hot breakfast is excellent and regularly replenished so as to remain fresh.
The pool and spa are nice too and we used them during the cold nights of our stay.
We particularly liked that they rent bicycles as there are some great bike tracks nearby along the Rio Grande.

Room Tip: If you don't like the configuration of furniture in your room ask for another room. We noticed t...

We picked this hotel because it was walking distance to the plaza area & it's #3 on tripadvisor. Not sure how it got to be #3, it was a ok place to stay for one nite but #3 I don't think so. The pool didn't look inviting so we didn't use it. Rooms were small but ok, sheets were wrinkled but clean, again not sure how they got to be #3 on tripadvisor.

This Econolodge could well be the best Econolodge in the entire chain, and for many folks it's far and away the best choice for a stay in Albuquerque. The facility, rooms, beds, furnishings and grounds are incredibly clean and well maintained. The bathroom is pretty "old school", but it is clean, well lit and completely functional. The Owners/Managers live on the premises and are available 24/7. They take tremendous pride in their hotel and are extremely aware of their TripAdvisor ratings as well they should be. Check the reviews and you'll see an incredible turnaround in almost every category that coincides with these people buying the property.

The experience at this hotel is the absolute best I've had at a "budget level" hotel. It is far better than many hotels that charge twice as much and provide half the service. The complimentary hot breakfast is a giant step above the usual waffles and cereal with REAL eggs, good breakfast meat and biscuits w/gravy. Parking seems ample and the doors are outside entrances allowing one to park directly in front of the room. The Old Town location is great for tourists, conventioneers and general downtown exploration. There are plenty of good restaurants, coffee shops and bars as well as a lively night time! The place feels very safe and is surprisingly quiet.

I can't recommend this hotel any more highly or I would. I personally have a new favorite place to stay when in Albuquerque!

The family owned econolodge in Old Town was very close to all amenities and run by a great family. It helps that dogs were allowed for an extra $10/night. The room was very comfy with fast internet, a nice morning breakfast and the family who owned it was very friendly. We would definately stay again.

Talk about an exceptional find - a very clean, comfortable place at a remarkably reasonable price, and the best breakfast in town, to boot! Elena Baron and her husband are amongst the most gracious people I've come across in ages. We stayed two nights, a week apart, and the service and accommodations were beautiful on both occasions. We got in late both nights and the Barons always welcomed us charmingly. My wife and I could not have been happier,

thanks,
Tony and Monica

Stayed here 3 nights while on an extensive trip around the west. Very close to Old Town Albuquerque and quiet. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful. Even mailed my bathrobe home to me. Very good breakfast choices. I would stay there again in a heart beat.
