Hubby and I received a great AAA rate so decided to try out this hotel. It offered a two queen suite with a kitchenette and living area for under $68 a night, free wireless internet (it works great!), free breakfast, a fitness room and a pool.
While over all we had a pleasant stay, all is not as it seems with this hotel. The front lobby is beautiful as is the breakfast area. The elevator is right off the front entrance however it sounded like one of those old time wooden roller coasters as we went up.
Went we got off on the third floor, while it looked pleasant enough, our noses met with a mysterious smell that followed us into our room. I can't quite describe it but it is not something that is bad enough to make us leave the hotel.
As for the room itself, it is a little dated but the hotel has updated a few things to make the room appear pleasant enough. Yet, again, not is all as it seems. My laptop was plugged in to the outlet near the desk but the outlet doesn't work. The battery was dead on the TV remote, the closet door fell out on us and we had to crank our AC unit down to 62 to get it to cool the room sufficiently.
Now, the hotel website boasted a pool and fitness room. We could tell from the pictures that the the pool and sauna were small so that was no surprise. However, when we went to the fitness room, the elliptical and the stationary bike did not work. When we went to tell the night staff they announced they did not know it wasn't working but would report it in the AM. It was obvious that the equipment had been in poor repair for awhile.
Would I stay here again? Perhaps if I am still on the same budget I am now, otherwise I may fork out a bit more money to stay in a little nicer place. All in all though, we got what we paid for. If you are on a budget and need space to move around, this is a great hotel for you!
