I am currently staying here for 1 night, and this will be my only night staying here. I booked a reservation, through the Super 8 website, for 1 night, 15 August 2013 while I was in Albuquerque to help my sister move into her dorm. When I arrived at the front desk, I was told by the clerk, Derrick, that their system showed me as having 2 reservations, both for a 1 king bed non smoking room and that it was too late to cancel either reservation for a refund. Since I had only made one reservation, and had done so using their web site, I was confused and even showed Derrick my confirmation page to try and remedy the situation. Derrick said he could cancel one of the reservations, but I would still be charged for it. I called the 1800 number provided by the company website and was told that their system only showed one reservation in my name and their confirmation number matched mine, they then asked me to have Derrick call them at the 1800 number so they could get it fixed. I asked Derrick to call them and he refused, saying he was busy with customers. I don't know who he thought he was talking to but I could clearly see that he was just standing there texting, no customers were in the lobby and no customers were on the hotel phone. Derrick stood there glancing between me and the phone without saying a word.
After I gave up trying to talk to Derrick, who is obviously being forced to work there since he shows no sign of compassion or concern for the customers, I went to my room, a non-smoking room which reeked of cigarette smoke, the TV was pulled out of its normal position and all of the guest information was knocked on the floor.
I would not recommend that anyone stay at this hotel, do not let the low price fool you. I must confess that the community areas seem fine to good in upkeep and quality but the service is horrible and the room was not kept up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Please do yourself a favor and pass this place up. Hopefully Derrick can find a profession that pleases him more than customer service.
