We came back for a second stay. The beds are really comfortable. The internet is not free any more and no one told us about it. Skimpy towels and the a/c did not work well. We had to change rooms because of the a/c not working right and they rented the room that we left out to someone else. Parties going on in next room late at night, walls are thin. I put my earplugs in. Asked the desk in the morning if the same people would be staying again next door because if they were, we were leaving!
Won't stay there again.

My mother and I stayed at the Nativo Lodge at the beginning of August for a wedding. We got the wedding block rate so paid less than others are reporting (about $80, if I remember correctly). Check-in was smooth, and the front desk was generally responsive (called a cab, sent up extra towels). As others have said, the lobby was really neat with southwestern and Native American decor. We had breakfast at the restaurant and the food was pretty good if standard breakfast fare (eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit, muffins, coffee, juice, etc.). The manager saw we didn't eat much one day, and so he gave us the child buffet rate as a courtesy. The bar was also pretty, but had a smallish area with only a few tables.

The hotel had a computer with free internet for printing boarding passes in the lobby, and a pay system for that computer as well. Wireless internet was $5 for 10,000 minutes (basically a week). Although we were right next to the freeway and 15 minutes from the University, we didn't hear any noise from traffic.

The beds were the most comfortable beds I've ever had in a hotel - they were pillowtop with suede-like coverlets. The room was nicely decorated with black and white Native American pictures and a patterned carpet. However, there was only one mirror which got in the way of getting ready in the morning. Overall I'd definitely stay here again, mostly because of the great beds.

  • Liked — The beds
  • Disliked — The lack of additional mirrors

Boutique style hotel at a reasonable price. Surprising amenities that one would expect from a more expensive hotel. Our room was upscale in decor as was the entire hotel. It's location was excellent; near highways and attractions. The hotel boasts a combination indoor/outdoor pool and hotel. It also features an outdoor teepee. On premise restaurant and bar were very good although they did tend to close prior than their posted time. Lovely atmosphere. We liked it so much we booked a stay in another of this chain's other properties.

  • Liked — atmosphere and price
  • Disliked — Lobby was a little dark

When we arrived at The Nativo Lodge I thought we'd hear freeway noises because we were so close to it. We did not. The check-in was friendly and seamless. There is only one elevator which is directly behind you after you check-in. The back part of the elevator is all plexiglass so you look down to the dark lobby. The lobby is a unique mixture of Southwestern and high tech due to the multiple flat screen TV's over the bar showing different Albuquerque and Santa Fe local destinations. There are several fabric-draped seating areas that are fun to lounge at. Once we got to our room I noticed how small the bathroom-vanity area was. It was okay, but we had two large pieces of luggage and only one luggage holder which fit in the small, tight closet. We made do. The room was nothing special, but clean and decorated with the same Southwestern theme. There was a small balcony that looked out toward the freeway and parking lot, which was okay. The pool and jacuzzi area was indoor/outdoor with a large draping piece of fabric separating the in from the out. We didn't see anyone use the facilities, probably because it was winter. There was a small gym which was adequate. The small dining area where breakfast was served was okay. Nothing special.

I don't want this review to sound totally bland- but after reading it, it does. The lodge itself was unique, but I've stayed at nicer places for the price. The best things about the Nativo were the comfy beds and the cool lobby.

  • Liked — The comfy beds.
  • Disliked — How dark the lobby was. Room number directions weren't anywhere after exiting the elevator.

This was a stopover during our drive from Estes Park CO to Phoenix. Place is fairly stock standard for a 3 star with our main issue being that the aircon. was somewhat intermitent during the night, meaning we didn't get a great nights sleep. Whilst everything else was clean & comfortable enough, I would try somewhere else next time given the wide range of similar standard hotels available.

The price of the internet bordered on extortion!!!
