The room was large and comfortable. The huge bathtub was a dream come true for my arthritic joints. The bed was very comfortable. Staff was attentive and prompt. Not a place you can afford to visit often but a very special treat when you can. Very romantic.

We stayed here for three nights before heading to Santa Fe. Its a good thing the hotel is so gorgeous because there's not a whole lot to do in Albuquerque! Lobby has six Moroccan style Casbah rooms that are amazing for cocktails or just lounging. Guest rooms were on the small side with small bathrooms but entirely adequate. They were very clean. Rooftop bar at night with modern fireplace is very beautiful and makes the hotel very inviting! Staff was helpful but not over the top in hospitality. I would stay here again for sure but for a single night before heading to Santa Fe! This hotel is a great value. You need a car in Albuquerque for sure.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not look out onto the roof.

A wonderful hotel that combines a historic ambiance with great service, dining, and staff. Everything is up-to-date, but the sensibility is timeless. The little casbahs in the lobby ate perfect for drinking and snacks with friends. The valet parking staff were uniformly cheerful and efficient. Morons were well equipped and spotless. I only ate one meal in the restaurant, but it was tasty and the service was efficient without being intrusive. Highly recommended.

Beautiful.. By far a breath of fresh air from the typical luxury hotel. Anyone that has ever worked, lived, or been to a downtown city area should already know the downfalls to it, so I won't drag on the obvious. Traffic was a little backed up (as to be expected downtown during rush hour) but as soon as you pull up to the hotel, you forget about it.

The first thing I loved was how wonderful valet was. There were a lot of vehicles pulling in, but we were helped immediately. The young man who parked our car was quick and respectful. Also, our bellman Ethen, was great. He brought our bags in, took us to reception, and made sure we were set. The reception experience was even a nice change. We weren't standing in line at a counter getting checked in, but in a warm office sitting face to face with receptionists. Tawnie was a doll, she got us checked in quickly and provided us with a lot of hotel and city info. Within 20 mins of being in the room she called to make sure we were comfortable, and managed to accommodate us throughout the evening. The restaurant was busy, yet the food and service was excellent. The waitstaff was very attentive, and we felt welcomed by every server that smiled our way. We were even pleased to see that the restaurant managers we out and about keeping themselves seen. We didn't manage to try the rooftop lounge but the drinks and entertainment in the living room were superb. Our room was great, and although there was a downtown concert a block away, the (in fear of spelling her name wrong) office supervisor informed us of it after we saw the set up on the way in.

In the morning, we tried the breakfast. Delicious! The only downfall to the hotel is no gym or pool/jacuzzi on the premises. However, they seemed to have an answer to everything and we were given comp. access to the underground gym and pool across the street.

Overall, if you are ever in town and open to experiencing albuquerque, hotel andaluz is the place to go. Amenities are nice, and although they don't have a few of the things newer hotels have at their fingertips, they make up for it with THE traditional hotel value: Hospitality. We booked our next stay for balloon fiesta and can't wait to go back.

this hotel is GORGEOUS, but watch out. We paid almost $200 for a stay while we were in town because we were planning a getaway to their warm weather. Turns out they close the pool/bar on Sundays. So we were in 100 + degree temps with nothing to do at the hotel. They make no adjustments for it, etc. It is not a great part of town... just a block or two from a large homeless park. Also, the AC has a very large temperature variable... so all night it was hot then very cold then hotel then very cold. As other reviewers said there is audible noise all night, too.

On the plus side, the rooms are lovely and so is the lobby. lucia has a very good breakfast.

We will go back to Tamayo Resort instead.

Dear lkilley,
Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your guest room and the hotel lobby.
Although Ibiza is closed on Sunday's the hotel still offers the lobby bar and the outdoor patio in our restaurant Lucia for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As we are located in the downtown area there is not a park that is within walking distance to the hotel so I am a bit confused about the park you mentioned.
I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you further about your visit, please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience at 505.242.9090 or if email is more convenient, msanchez@hotelandaluz.com. Thank you again, I look forward to hearing from you.

We hosted our daughter's wedding reception here. It was a great experience from start to finish!
The hotel is breath-taking. The staff epitomizes "southwest hospitality". Our out of town guests were impressed with all the hotel had to offer, from renting a casbah in the large hotel lobby, to the "pillow concierge". I am impressed with the fact that a large amount of money was well spent to make this a "green"(environment-friendly)hotel. The rooms are unique.,old but very modern at the same time. We will definitely return to the Hotel Andaluz for a relaxing,zen-like staycation.:)

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet suite. If the zen room on the third floor is available, ask for it, well worth the p...

This interestingly restored facility has a nice feel to it. The decor is fun and creative and the rooms can be beautiful and comfortable (more about this later). The bar scene has access to a second floor deck that is very pleasant on a warm evening. The restaurant is moderately adequate--their are better choices nearby such as Artichoke. The main problem is the lack of amenities one expects in a "luxury" hotel, especially a pool or exercise room. They offer access to a day club across the street but the hours are limited and it is not really comfortable to use this choice, one wonders if anyone does. We stayed several days and due to odd circumstances spent time in three rooms. Two were great. One was near the elevator and was much less comfortable and the noise of the elevator arriving was a constant disturbance. The reason we were in several rooms was either the incompetence or hostility of the front desk staff. We finally got things straightened out by appealing to 'higher ups' who sorted the problem in 20 minutes after hours of delay by those supposedly in charge of our room selection. The hotel is very close to the transit station so one could easily take the train to Santa Fe or elsewhere. Unfortunately, again, the front desk was really unhelpful about schedules and pricing and use of this resource. Similarly questions about nearby restaurants or resources were answered in the vaguest of terms. Valet parking is necessary and is friendly and more helpful while not unreasonably priced. Beds, towels, linens were of excellent quality. The window coverings are slats which do not shut out the light very well. A/c is good and quite but because the windows are not well soundproofed ambient street noises can be heard. Some carpeting in public areas, especially the elevators, has become stained and worn and could use a refurbishment.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms ending in 01 or 02 (elevator noises), try to get higher up. There is a view of s...

Dear RHSSantaBarbara_CA,
Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. Our property offers 12 different room types which accommodate our large range of travelers. We are happy to hear we were able to locate a room that best suited your needs. Although our property does not have a fitness center on site guests have found the full service gym more so accommodating as they can take group fitness classes such as yoga or cycling and still have the option to use the gym equipment or the facilities at no additional cost. I apologize the front office was not helpful in assisting with railrunner information, which we do offer in the pamphlets at the front office, or with restaurant recommendations as this is not indicative of our usual high level of guest service. I would welcome the opportunity to speak further with you in regards to the service at the front office in order to ensure we are keeping our service in the highest regard. Please feel free to contact me at 505.242.9090 or if email is more convenient msanchez@hotelandaluz.com
