“Lovely hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

We had a wonderful stay here. Great breakfasts in the restaurant (that came with the AAA rate), good equipment in the gym, beautiful views from our room, comfortable bedding, wonderful service, and good location.

Room Tip: Get an upper floor looking toward the mountains.

We stayed at this hotel hoping it would be near historic old town Albuquerque. It ended up being to far to walk and our vehicle was tied up since we were towing a car. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel which was $85 for our family. Good food but very expensive and not an atmosphere ideal for kids.

Hi BKCarson:

We thank you and your family for staying us while traveling. We apologize that you feel that our hotel is not ideal for a young family as we do have many families who choose us to enjoy our swimming pool, fitness center, close proximity to museums, the zoo, Botanic gardens, aquarium and Tingley Beach.

We value your feedback and appreciate you being our guest and do hope you'll give us another opportunity to extend our hospitality the next time you travel to Albuquerque. Thank you again for writing.

I enjoy the hotel accommodations. The bell man however was very rude. While using the business center, he was very intrusive. Asking me how I am going to pay for the computer use as I am busy using it! It is a prepaid computer.

I would like to take the time, sorry it's late but I just found her card,
Allyson did an amazing job in taking care of our group at the hotel restaurant.
I highly recommend her as your waitress!

Sincerely,,

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

We stayed at the Hyatt for a convention in December. It was close to the convention center and some decent restaurants. The accessibility of restaurants is important because the restaurant in the hotel (The Forque) is extremely disappointing in every aspect. I would warn anyone away from it. I have reviewed the restaurant separately on Trip Advisor.

Since we were on an extended driving trip in connection with the convention it was necessary for us to bring our dog. The hotel is pet friendly with designated rooms, which we always appreciate. When we found a leak from the bathtub in our room, it was quickly addressed and they apologized for the inconvenience profusely. I agree with the reviewer who mentioned that the sheets are tucked in so tightly that you cannot pull back the top sheet without a fight (this is something I often find in hotels and always hate). Our room had a view of the park across the street where we could take our dog. One of the valets told us about a dog park about a mile and a half away, which we also appreciated. We found the room comfortable and adequate and the staff friendly and helpful.
Here is a "heads up"! We had made a reservation for four nights but because of an emergency at home we needed to checkout after three. The front desk staff informed us that they needed twenty-four hours notice (this was the evening of the third day) so we would be charged for the room even if we left. I was able to get the extra night excused by speaking with the manager, who was very nice and most accommodating, but I think it is important that customers be informed of this policy, perhaps it is already in the fine print. We often stay at Hyatt Hotels and are Hyatt Club members but had not encountered this problem before.
In all I would rate the hotel as good, somewhere between average and very good.

Room Tip: I would recommend a room on a higher floor with a view of the park.

Dear rivertraveler1003:

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on TripAdvisor. We consider your comments very important and valuable as it helps us to gage if we are providing the very best in customer service.

We are disheartened to read that you abbreviated your stay with us due to an emergency and do hope this reply finds you well. Although a 24-hour notice is required with most reservations, we should have been more sensitive to your emergency needs. For that, I do apologize for the inconvenience.

It appears that we missed the mark with your dining experience in our award-winning restaurant, Forque, during your brief stay. Management was notified about your comments and do take them very seriously. We gladly welcome you back to give us another try. Please contact us when you are back in the area.

We appreciate your loyalty to the Hyatt brand and hope to see you again!

This is a nice downtown hotel with updated rooms. With some planning they even offer conjoined rooms for traveling with kids.

High floor rooms that face the Sandia mountains would be my pick and are worth just the few extra bucks. Friendly staff and valet. A safe choice for the business traveler.

I spent 5 nights here for a convention.I really liked the comfortable bed,the front desk staff, and the fitness room. The biggest challenge was service in the restaurant. They do not bring in enough staff when the hotel is full for a convention. The wait for table and food can be quit long for meals particularly breakfast.
