“Comfortable hotel with unhappy staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

My wife and I stayed here with a Contiki group as a one night stop over. The hotel was pleasant and the room was large. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and tidy. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was nice and plentiful. Maybe it was because we were part of a tour group but the bar staff were a little surly and the wait staff just tossed the food down and ran. We would stay here again if passing through town. Overall a comfortable experience.

“Old Town on your doorstep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

The hotel is in an excellent location, a very short walk to the Old Town, and several other attractions and museums. It is a very well kept hotel, great decor in the lobby area as well.
Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Again all the furniture was matching and looked authentic for New Mexico, there is also a great restaurant on site and bar. Both are very reasonable and the food was great,

“Clean, comfortable, good rates, convenient location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Spent one night, clean room was a bit small with 2 beds, furniture, bed was comfortable, but heard some noise from the Interstate. Staff was pleasant, breakfast was ok. Low ceiling creates a cramped feeling for the lobby and restaurant, although another way to look at it is there is not a lot of wasted space in this hotel! Located on Rio Grande off I 40, not far from Old Town. Recommended, 3 and half stars

“Great value and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

Pleasant hotel just of the highway with good rooms and service, including a restaurant on site. Well appointed room with a good bed, ok bathroom. Restaurant on site has a good food selection with prices appropriate for a hotel. No free breakfast as with most BW but cost at restaurant is reasonable. Stayed three nights with restaurant meals for approx $500.00. Would recommend this hotel. Also within travelling distance to Los Alamos which is a must see.

“Update of previous post”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Originally said there were no privacy curtains. Finally found them. They are on the window side of the lightweight curtains (rather than the room side) and were hidden behind large decorative valances on the edges of the window ... And they are white to match the other curtains.

But in giving them credit for that, have to take off for water temperature control in the shower. Part way through showering, without touching the faucet, the temperature went up and down several times without me touching the faucet -- apparently being very sensitive to what other guests were doing. Having a room at the far end of the hall must make things sensitive to many of the rooms along the hall ... So my shower went from normal temp to hot, cold, normal, cold, hot, and finally back to normal as I finished. (Wasn't enough to scald, nor freeze, but still very noticeable) .
