“A very nice hotel great value for the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

I took a suite at this hotel for $67, and got ahotel that looks like a Marriott or Hyatt. Unlike most Choice hotels, breakfast is on real plates, with real cutlery, not paper and plastic. A really good value,l will return again.

I had a bad feeling about this place when we viewed the sea of residential laminate flooring at the entrance. The check in experience was perfect, friendly and flawless. Good things ended there. The dark, dirty and faded carpet in the hallways was far, far beyond its useful life. The elevator doors were guarded by some odd entry arrangement that made it nearly impossible to enter the elevator with a luggage cart. The route from the elevator to our room was like a corn maze; winding forward, left, right, and in and out of doorways and halls. The room was spacious, yet inefficient. There was one luggage stand for one suitcase. Our other one had to go on the floor to be opened. The closet was tucked in to a corner of the bathroom and inaccessible. Tired from a full day on the road, we unpacked and I hit the shower. The tub was not a slow drainer – it was a no drainer. I had water well up on my shins as I waded back to the floor. My wife simply would not enter the pool of soapy liquid. We called the front desk and, to their credit, were offered another room. The night clerk brought up the key, we got dressed again, repacked the open suitcases and toiletries and headed to our new room. Here, we were greeted with a dirty diaper in the bathroom trash can. Too tired to complain further, we hit the sack. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Upon checkout, we complained to the desk clerk about our experiences and he assured us the manager would call us to resolve the matter to our satisfaction. As expected, we have heard nothing. Oh, you have to ask for a $1 credit on the safe rental that is automatically charged to your room. I blame myself somewhat for this experience. It was a low priced room and I went for the savings. Nevertheless, there are just far too many good choices in Albuquerque for one to put up with such mediocrity. We will never stay at this Clarion again.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms with southern window (we had 318). There is a huge billboard facing the building with i...

I have written several trip advisor reviews and this is my first "less than satisfied."

We are Choice Rewards members and had enough points for a reward night at the Quality Inn. We elected save our points and pay for the room at the Clarion (believing it would be a little nicer). First off they gave us the key to a room already occupied by another guest. The room they ended up giving us had some graffiti scratched in the bathroom mirror.
There seemed to be a few additional maintenance issues: The faucet in the shower was loose and a bit of a challenge. Housekeeping was great though.
We also enjoyed the excercise room. Although two of the three cycles had problems.
The breakfast did live up to the hype! You could smell the bacon as soon as you entered the hallway. (There were plenty of choices as well).
And yes...we were charged for the safe and forgot to ask for a credit upon checkout.

We will be looking for another hotel our next trip.

Great hotel in a awesome city. Price was right, clean and comfortable with a nice welcome bag, pool and an amazing breakfast. Excellent location, attentive staff - an overall amazing value and no doubt a 5 star property

I needed to spend a week in Albuquerque for business recently, and since I also need to stay at properties at or under the Federal Gov't per diem (but I don't qualify directly for the "Government Rate"), my choices in business travel accommodations are often limited. This hotel provides clean, quiet rooms at a price within my means, and their service is excellent! The breakfast service in their restaurant is so good that I wish they were open for lunch and dinner as well! The property is a little bit older than many in the same area, but it is very well maintained and when I need to travel back to Albuquerque in the future, I'll book with the Clarion again.

We recently stayed at the Clarion in Albuquerque. We were very pleased by our accommodations. We were given a nice suite for a very good price. Breakfast was great, and the people at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. We hope to stay there again when we visit Albuquerque.

Recently stopped for the night. The room was nice and clean, the front desk was friendly and the breakfast was good. Although we were not there for the ballon festival the front desk made a point of reminding us and they had set up a viewing area out front.
