I love this place! Of the 10 mornings I've woken up in Albuquerque, I've had breakfast here 6 times (twice in June, once in July and three times in September). Bleicherblog (a DE for Abq) told me about this funky little coffee spot. I never would have found it otherwise. (It's easy to get to, being just a block off Central, but you're unlikely to discover it by chance.)
Loved it...every time. Old beat up tables, chairs, stools, floor, etc. Exposed ducts. A little bit of attitude (but not too much). Art on the walls (for sale, and it changes every month). Good and interesting music playing. Great coffee and, at least for me, a solid breakfast with Jack’s Plate: 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast and grilled tomato…all for just $7.25! (Well, the coffee was extra.) I always got Jack's Plate (creature of habit), but I noticed a lot of customers bought a huge breakfast burrito either for take out or to eat in. They looked awesome. They also have sandwiches, salads and such for lunch.
On my last three visits earlier this month, I ended up spending between 2 and 2½ relaxing hours here each time...reading, journaling, eating, drinking and just enjoying the place.
Looking forward to my next visit to Albuquerque and breakfast at Downtown Java Joe's.
