“Loved- wish this hotel would travel WITH me!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2010

Stayed here for 2 nights during a route 66 trip with girlfriends. We LOVED it. We had a two bedroom suite and the space was HUGE- more than enough room for three adults- and could've comfortably accomodated more. We loved our space. The one design flaw is that in the bedrooms, the sink area is not separated from the bed area by a door. Therefore, if one person stays up late or gets up early, the LIGHT from the sink area fills the whole bedroom. This proved annoying as my sister got up before I did each day!

We enjoyed the free breakfast- but were never there for the "complimentary light dinner". The coffee was fantastic! (I've never written that sentence in a tripadvisor review!)

While you are literally, within WALKING distance to the airport... I only heard ONE plane the entire time! It was not noisy at all. I've seen some of the other reviews complaining about noise of other guests through the walls- but we didn't hear anything. You'd never know this was an "airport" location.

We couldn't have loved the Homewood Albuquerque airport more! sure- I could think of improvements (like the aforementioned door, and the front desk staff was very business-like but not super warm and friendly) but we really really REALLY loved this. During our cross country trip (which included Embassy suites, Hamptons, Townhomes etc) this was our favorite hotel stay.

This was our first stay at this airport Homewood Suites and we were not disappointed.
Our check-in was smooth and pleasant. And when we asked for the nearest gas station for our rental car, the receptionist wrote out directions and gave me the hotel's business card to call for a pick-up ride at the car rental facility. That evening they had a cookout with grilled burgers and chicken. Breakfast was good and tasty. We would definitely stay here again.

We had had such a great experience at the Homewood Suites at Buffalo Thunder in Santa Fe that we changed our reservation in Albuquerque to the Homewood Suites Airport as they were offering a really good deal on a full suite. When we arrived, it was a let down.
The hotel is decorated in a very stuffy, dark provincial style. While that might be appropriate at a hotel in New York or Chicago, you would never know from the hotel that you were in the southwest. If they did not want to decorate in southwest style, at least they could have used a more contemporary look, instead of heavy dark woods and tons of fake flowers.

The attitude at the front desk was dismissive at best. We arrived in town a bit early but stopped by anyway to see if we could get an early check in. The property was nearly deserted, but we were told we had to wait until 3. That night, it was evident that the property was far from full. I find it hard to believe that they did not have one room that they could have put us in. But the rule is check in at 3 and they were sticking to it, the heck with customer service. We found the same attitude when we asked for help finding nearby gas stations for filling the rental car. Rude.

Cleanliness was not their long suit either. There was food on the floor in the hallway outside our suite when we arrived and it was still there when we left 2 days later. Apparently vacuuming the hallways is not a priority. We were placed at the end of a long hallway and then down another smaller hallway where there were 2 suites. Apparently the maids don't know that these rooms are there, even though their supply room is right there, as they never cleaned the room on the second day, so we had no clean towels, full garbage cans and an unmade bed.

There is a daily breakfast with good selections, although we did notice that both days they ran out of certain things rather early (8 am on a day when breakfast is served until 10). Another problem - there were bins for used dishes in the breakfast area and both days we were there they sat overflowing and unemptied for much too long. Not particularly appetizing. The breakfast area is large and accomodated everyone on both days without people having to stand around waiting for a table.

There is a pool and whirlpool and we thought we might take advantage of them as it was quite hot while we were there, but they are both miniscule and every time we checked they were filled to overflowing with small children, so we passed. There is a basketball court next to the pool area that we never saw anyone using. It might have made more sense to put in a larger pool or even a children's pool area and not wasted that space on a basketball court.

Although they seem to have spent well on outside sound proofing (we never heard any planes until we left the building and the hotel is literally right next to the airport) they did not do the same inside and there were times when we could hear conversation and the TV from the adjacent suite and we also heard the people above us walking around. If they could mask the plane noise from outside, you would have thought they could have done a better job with the inside sound proofing.

All in all, although the cost for the space was reasonable, I don't think I would stay here again. After the wonderful experience we had at Buffalo Thunder, this property was a real let down and next time I think I would just stay in Santa Fe and drive to the airport the day of the flight out instead of staying here.

stayed here on flying into town. 5 minutes from airport, but very quiet. Nice safe area, unlike some of the hotels in town. No more than 15 minutes to any attraction in ABQ. Front desk very helpful with directions, recommendations. Very clean, quiet and spacious. Great value for money. One of the nicest suite hotels I've ever stayed in. (It's also very new.) Easy drive to University/ restaurants. 25 minutes from Petroglyph park and Sandia. Nothing to complain about!!

This is a great hotel. It is super clean, remarkably quiet, and extremely comfortable. Classy, upscale decor. Great beds. It is an excellent choice in Albuquerque.

This is a very nice addition to hotels in Albuquerque. Very clean and up to date. The rooms are very clean and nicely done. Easy to find if you are on either I-25 or I-40 with easy airport access. The evening Welcome meals were Great!!! If you have not stayed at a Homewood you need to give them a try. The breakfast was very good and the entire area was kept very clean. The housekeeping staff went out of their way to make sure our room was made in the short time we were out of it. For the most part the staff at the desk was very helpful and courteous. This is a good hotel and we will stay here again when we are in the area. 5Stars for them.

This is a new hotel with many nice features often included in the extended stay hotels; e.g., kitchenette, large closet, sitting area, & breakfast buffet. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you need easy access to the airport. The staff was very considerate, even offering transportation into the town center for dinner, etc., via their shuttle bus. I was able to schedule the airport shuttle for the exact time I needed it in the morning. Also, I found the bed very comfortable.
