“King Suite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

Priority club member. Two teenagers and both parents went to spend one night on the 4th floor, King Suite. So many extras were provided, wet bar, fridge, microwave, desk set was full, digital hook-ups were intact. One hitch, as we checked in, there were no 4th floor King Suites available, ?(on Jan. 1st?)? We were checking in before 3 pm, about 2:30 pm, so we asked if we could wait. Then the suite we hoped for was ready. All the way into setting up the queen pull out sofa for the girls, suddenly the room heater didn't/wouldn't come on. So we requested a move. Loved the re-placement suite, once we settled in. Watched a great HBO movie "The Miracle" all together, then spent a blissful night sleeping. The jet tub/spa was over the top and everyone enjoyed using it.

Room Tip: Request top floor for quiet and views.

The location is not the easiest to find for an overtired traveler to start with.

We arrived at the location in the early hours of the morning. Going in, we found the desk clerk on the couch in the lobby making out with a guy. When she finally got around to check us in, she was rude and combative. We went to our room and found that it had been used for "bedroom activities" after housekeeping had cleaned it. The shower had been used, 2 towels/wash clothes, soap and there was condom wrapper and more I wish to not discuss in the waste bin. We had pictures, but the phone I had them on was stolen, but the morning desk crew were shown the pictures.

When we called the front desk, we were told they could possibly move us to another room later in the morning. As we had just worked a 14 hr shift after driving up from AZ, we caught a few hrs of sleep on couch. We were finally offered a free breakfast for this. Attempted to contact management about this and no calls were ever returned.

One word, DISGUSTING!

I've stayed at this hotel several times in the past just for the convenience and the fact that I'm a Priority Club Ambassador member. I've promised myself not to make this mistake again. There are much better choices in the area for around the same price.
Rooms are worn and haven't been very clean the last two times that I've stayed here.
Do yourself a favor and shop around.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and the services that we offer. We rely on our guests feedback in order to improve our services and to ensure satisfaction.

We pride ourselves on providing a clean and quite room for all of our guests and it seems that we have fallen short of not only your expectations by our own as well. We hope that you will give us another chance to show our improvements in cleanliness and room quality.

Thank you.

Very pleasant stay and excellent customer service. Try to book with the hotel site; after signing up for their member program ( free ) we were able to get a price equal to priceline which included breakfast for two. Brian, the restaurant manager, couldn't have been nicer. One point: it's hotel food. Don't expect a ZAGAT experience. The rooms were spotless, the pool was clean. The gym was a tad small thus the 4 star, but otherwise I had a thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing, time. We have come to Albuquerque many times and this hotel was probably our best experience.

Decided to stay at this hotel because of a special rate being run on priceline. The bed was comfortable and the property is situated right next to the airport which makes it convenient for travelers. Those would be the most positive qualities of this facility. One evening went to use the hot tub and it was only luke warm. The sauna also wasn't functioning properly either. When heading out of the pool area my fiance noticed the ceiling was dripping water next to a light fixture that was turned on. He reported it to the management and they said thanks for letting us know that happens all the time (I thought you routinely expose guests to potential fire hazards? Yikes!) The room could have been a little cleaner and the heating/ ac unit also was a bit spastic and did not maintain a constant temprature. No free breakfast at this HI, breakfast was ok, but a bit expensive and the service was poor. Instead go to the Village Inn, Waffle House or IHop down the street. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you stay at an amazingly inexpnsive rate.

When I made this reservation, I thought I was going to be at the Holiday Inn Express hotel near the airport rather than the Holiday Inn. I had previously stayed at the former and was pleased with the experience, so we were a little surprised when the GPS instructed us to turn at a different exit.

We were really tired after a long day of travel. We had expected to check-in, then walk down the street to a nice family restaurant for dinner. Frankly, we were not excited about having to leave the hotel for dinner. As it turns out, though - the Holiday Inn has a small on-site restaurant and lounge. We were so pleased to be able to eat dinner in the hotel!

So dinner was the pleasant part of the surprise. We were less pleased with the condition of the hotel itself. This facility was of a condition that seems to be the standard for the traditional Holiday Inn line. The Express hotels are typically more modern and in better condition. Pretty much each aspect of facility is just a half a notch lower than most of the Express hotels. It's still a good place to stay, and this particular hotel seems to charge about $10 or more less than the comparable Express hotels.

Of particular note - the west facing rooms offer a great view of the city - a real plus during balloon events!

My strategy on future Albuquerque visits will be to compare the rates of this Holiday Inn to the Holiday Inn Express hotels and decide if the discount makes it worthwhile. There are two non-Holiday Inn facilities that I also like a lot that are not that far away, so they will also be contenders for my next visit!

Room Tip: The rooms facing west on the upper floors offer great views overlooking the city!

I was going to give a 4 star rating but at the end we had a mayor disappointment on the outcome of this stay! The hotel is fairly OK great bar! But their staff (which were very nice at the beginning) made this become a 1 star (should be none!) I though there was still honest people on this town but seems not. We lost some items in the room which we claimed and they always blamed it on "the cleaning maid has not reported nothing we are sorry" my son is very sad because of the meaning of the item that disappeared and my daughter is also not happy with her lost item that's over $100 dollars. Well you guys, keep them as an appreciation as to NOT come back ever! Remember one thing, a happy customer recommends you with 3 people, an unhappy customer recommends you with 10+ people. Enjoy the items! Wish I could say, more but not worth it.....
